Being a flooring contractor I know how the business works, my customer had mold and the moldy stuff was removed like it was never even happened. Contractor to contractor very joyed.
Great craftsmanship, professional, and easy to communicate with. Worked with my schedule to complete the project according to my timeline. My bed was put together perfectly, and headboard mounted into masonry. I find a common theme amongst contractors in that they don't clean up after themselves, leaving saw dust and waste materials for the home owner to clean. While I did have to do some fine tuning in the cleaning department, Trenton did at least attempt to clean up the area by picking up and disposing of the larger waste pieces. I would definitely hire him again.
Thanks for this excellent service to provide a contractor.
One of the few contractors who does excellent work, has humility, does not leave a mess, is friendly and reaches out to you when he is delayed but also shows up then.
Jhonathan mounted our 65" TV over our fireplace. They were a bit late, but went straight to work when they got here. They were nice enough though they seemed not the most experienced contractors. This was simply a feeling as the work was adequate enough. They seemed "Jack's of all trades" and didn't portray the expertise others would have. Though, these are all easily overlooked considering the unbeatable price.
Renaissance did an amazing job on my den. I originally hired them to mount a tv and ended up having him paint 2 rooms as well. They were on time, very responsive and knowledgeable. I had another contractor install a cable outlet and electrical outlet above my fireplace to make the mounting of my tv easy. However that contractor didn't do an efficient job and when Antonio mounted the tv both outlets were showing. It is very important to me that only the tv be visible after mounting. Antonio assured me that he would not only hide the cable box and cords but would fix the other contractors work as well. I was able to relax and everything was taken care of to my specifications. They went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met and I was satisfied with the job. I would recommend them as well as use them again for other home improvement projects.
Landsdown was really easy to work with on my tree removal and offered an excellent price (1/3 what another service quoted). The owner, Charles, even came by while I was away and did an estimate solo, following up with pictures and a quote. The two guys who did the work (Chuck and Greg, I think), were really friendly, especially Greg who took the time to cut a small length of rope for our puppy - he still plays with it! Scheduling was easy, but another job ran over due to lots of power lines near the other person’s tree so my job got pushed to the next day. Not a big deal because I work from home and was there both days anyway. My father works in the construction industry so I know sometimes things don’t go exactly to plan through no fault of the contractor, which is what happened here. The only hiccup was the stump removal, which I’d agreed to at a cost of an extra $200 and was absolutely critical to happen so another contractor could come in and do work on the driveway (the tree was growing in our gravel drive). The guys finished up and the stump was still there. I asked, and the owner said he could not remove it because I hadn’t called Miss Utility (this is technically supposed to be done by whatever contractor is doing the work). The owner said he could come back and do the stump removal later, but waiting would’ve delayed my other project. I ended up having to pay the other contractors for an extra day of work PLUS $200 to rent a stump grinder. Luckily the other contractor was family and the price was much lower because of that. Factoring this in, the tree removal in total was closer to what I was quoted elsewhere. I wish we had been more clear on expectations up front and I’d been more insistent that the stump be removed. Despite this, I would work with Lansdown again because of their excellent prices, but I would’ve held off on clearing the job as complete (and paying) until all phases were done, as I really underestimated the cost/hassle to get someone to finish up.
Alisade was very quick in giving us an estimate and starting the work. He took an area of my sloped backyard and leveled it for a playset, including building a retaining wall to support the new expanded space. He was easy to work with and we would definitely use him for other landscaping projects.
After waiting since November to have a contractor come out to clean my gutter. I gave up and tried to locate another contractor. After several replies on Thumbtack, I decided on Reinaldo Torres of Del Ray Landscaping. First thing, he was in the Alexandria area. Many contractors are too far and feel it is not worth their while to travel for a small job. Second thing, its a landscaping business that does gutter cleaning. Great!! My neighbor has tree with limbs overhanging on my roof that traditional gutter cleaners will not touch. Third thing, his quote was inline with the others as far as the gutter cleaning. I did not mention the tree at the time, but the quote for cleaning my gutter was very reasonable. I contacted Reinaldo on Saturday, New Years Eve. He came out the same day in which I explained I wanted my roof swept and gutter cleaned. At that time, I asked if he would be willing to prune the branches overhanging my roof. He stated that would not be a problem for an additional/reasonable fee. We scheduled an appointment for two days later, Monday. It was raining on Monday. Reinaldo, called that morning and explained it was not a good day due to the weather. I understood and we scheduled for the next Saturday. I then looked at the weather for that weekend, and there was a possibility of snow and cold later that week. I called Reinaldo back and asked if he could come out Wednesday, January 4th, after 3:00 PM when I was off work. No problem. Reinaldo and a friend came out Wednesday around 3:30PM. They apologized for being late for they had mechanical issues on the work truck. Most contractors would have canceled. Not Reinaldo, he put a ladder on his family mini-van and came out. Taking about dedication and only 30 min late!!! Reinaldo and his friend, Nelson, did a great job with the tree pruning, roof sweeping, and cleaning out my gutter. They cleaned up after and everything looked great. I am very happy with the service and definitely will be using Del Ray Landscaping again!!! John McCauley Alexandria, VA
I was delighted by my experience working with Ordonez. He installed a marble backsplash in my kitchen. His price was competitive but it was his conscientiousness, thoroughness, and commitment to excellence that impressed me the most. I’ve worked with many home contractors, and this is one of the best. Fully recommend!
Makimanta did a wonderful landscaping and hardscaping job in our back yard. Even after several changes on our end they worked with us, were very prompt and did a great job.
Was very pleased with Lucas Paving. Steve and his team not only repaved and sealed my driveway, which looks fabulous, but also replaced grout between bricks surrounding the driveway. And by using polymeric joint sand, it not only looks better but will be easier to fix in the future. Lastly, he power washed the brick staircase. His total price for these services was fair and it certainly saved me time from having to search for additional contractors. Steve followed through on all his commitments; if a date/time needed to be changed, he let me know well in advance. Overall, was a pleasure to work with and would do so again when the need arises.
Mr. Litman and his staff at Unlimited not only fulfilled my expectations, they surpassed them. I would DEFINITELY recommend them as contractors on my future contracting needs. Glad that I experienced them as a company.
I'm a do it yourself'er type of person. However when I found water damage from a poor gutter installation I needed help. American. Home & Hardscape were hired to replace the exterior wood finish on a dual bay windows, reconfigure gutters and partial roof finishings. The job took only a few day to complete the major work. Impressive! The final product was clean and seamless. An important fact considering they worked on the front of my townhouse. My neighbor commented that the house didn't look sad anymore. Richard and his team are very knowledgeable, personable and skilled. They worked with me and provided invaluable suggestions on completing my work on the interior water damage. We encountered a few hiccups such as a miscommunication on number of paint layers and typos on a change order. Richard was very accommodating, understanding and worked quickly to resolve them. All in all, great first experience. I would recommend them for any project and plan to use them for my future bath, laundry and kitchen projects.
Tim and his crew did a great job on our basement finishing! Tim was very knowledgeable throughout the process and was very accommodating to with our busy schedules. He and his crew were very trustworthy as most of the time they worked in the house while we were away. Special thanks to Neil and the other gentleman on the team. They were always very friendly and responsive when I needed anything or had a question. My only negative, hence 4 stars, would be that I would have liked to only have had Tim as the sole POC versus us having to deal one on one with the other contractors on the project as it made for a lot of calls and additional tasks to manage. This was our first project so we were not really sure how everything worked. All in all, they did a great job and made our space beautiful! We would definitely use again for any project!
Davids Landscaping was an excellent choice for our landscape projects which was several thousand dollars in value. David came out once to assess, then we met he and an associate Melvin to select trees at a local nursery. Their professionalism was great, their knowledge fantastic and customer service just fine. We would use them again.
I have used roofing contractors, siding contractors, hvac contractors, gutter contractors, and patio Concrete contractors in the past. They all have similar traits. They are late, they pull workers off my job to work elsewhere, and they don’t finish on time! Not with GAN Construction, they showed up on time and the same crew worked on the project from beginning to end. I contracted GAN to do three concrete jobs, 1) pour a concrete slab for a 12’x12’ shed on a sloping rear yard, 2) pour a concrete walkway from the front of the house to the drive way, and 3) cut a hole in the garage floor and pour a recessed pit to accommodate my lift. Because the concrete slab for the shed is on a slope, they actually poured in a concrete footer and built a cinder block foundation wall to support the slab. The garage job was a bit more complicated. The pit had to meet code to support my lift which is capable of supporting 7000 lbs. Their engineers determined the concrete will need to sit on 5 pillars (3-4 deep below backfill) and the concrete pit itself was built with rebar every 12 inches and wire mesh. The concrete is 12 inches thick! It is not going anywhere! The walk was a piece of cake so I thought. Because the old walk way has settled more than 7 inches in different spots, GAN decided to tie the walk was into the concrete steps with rebar ever 2 feet. The earth was compacted to reduce possible setting in the near future. Over all I am very pleased with the work GAN did. The crew was very professional, kept the work area clean and when they left, it was as if they were never there. I would highly recommend using GAN for your concrete projects! Dr. Al Wong
We recently had Valle Remodeling Inc completely renovate (floor to ceiling) our bathroom in three days. From start (buying the items from Lowes) to finish, we are extremely satisfied by the level of expert service provided by the contractor. It is the highest level of satisfaction one can derive from a remodeling job. He is extremely experienced, very affordable, goes beyond expectations, timely, and above all is very courteous. We are very happy that we found him to do the remodeling and we are already talking to add a half-bath in our basement.
The contractor did a great job he definitely knows about concrete. I am happy with my foundation we are now building a three story addition. The only downside was it took longer than I expected but I know that the foundation will not crack according to the inspector
We received outstanding work from Chris Harvey who performed as a General Contractor to reconfigure the backyard of my townhouse. This effort required building a three foot high cinder block wall at the end of my property, then leveling the yard which had a severe slope by back filling from the existing cement patio to the wall. He built a slate sidewalk from the patio to the wall, covered the patio in slate and built slate steps through the wall out to the walking path behind the wall. Chris had a cedar fence with gate built around the yard and then landscaped the yard with top soil, sod, rock, and plantings. It was done exactly as I asked and in a very timely manner with only interruptions for weather and two visits by Miss Utility. Chris is very sociable and easy to work with. He was present for each sub contractor as they started and completed their work. I highly recommend Chris Harvey Landscaping.
Marvin and painter were great! Punctual, professional and the work was clean. I have hired them to come back for another project!
