We are very dissapointed with the review received. Before we started you stated that there was a previous issue with the toilet. You stated that a plumber came to fix the issue but it wasn't fixed correctly and even pointed out that the toilet was not straight. When we removed the toilet to install the tile, we advised you that it was leaking and moisture was under the toilet. We have installed toilets dozens of times and the permanent wax ring can only be installed one way. If there was an issue with the toilet, we would have been more than happy to correct it if given the opportunity. No call or text. I advised you that the floor was not level and that it needed to be fixed in order for the toilet to sit correctly. (We were there to install tile) We never tried to rip you off. We advised that since you were using 4x3 subway tiles (unbeknownst to us) that there would be extra labor. Especially since that would have meant that 320 tiles would be installed per wall on two of the four walls. We suggested a larger tile to accomodate and which would look good for the space. To try and save you labor cost. I sent an updated invoice after we spoke that did not include all the unforseen additional material that was needed for the job that was qouted for larger tiles. We had a conversation about the floor, the moisture, and the final amount for the job. We removed all additional unknown material. The leveling spacers are $26.48 for 200 of them. Each tile needs 5 leveling spacers which means over 1400 spacers were used. Not regular spacer which are cheaper but does not give you a professional job since they don't level the tile. There were 278 tiles used just for the side walls not including the accent wall which each tile also used 8 leveling spacers. We were unaware of the size of the wall tiles you were using, which meant out of the $1445 (charged for 156sf) total labor for the job we ate the cost of over $300 for most of the spacers along with the cost for trim, adhesive, caulk, misc and additional wedges needed for the spacers. We have no reason to try and rip you off. We have been very blessed because of our professionalism and ability to go above and beyond for our customers. For example, we drove to several locations from norfolk, to portsmouth, and chesapeake to pick up the larger tile so that you did not have to worry about dealing with picking up 278 tiles. I'm sorry that your experience with us didn't go well for you. With over 20 years of providing professional service we have never had a bad review or any issue we weren't allowed to correct. Again, we would have been more than happy to correct anything we may have done wrong however we weren't given a chance just a 2 star review and a text message on the same day , over a week after the job was done stating that we didn't do something correctly per another contractor.
