Chuck is easy to work with. He has a knack for making the people that he is working with feel comfortable. I would not hesitate to call on him again. While he told me in advance that there would be a 2-3 weekend turn-around on the photos, he might want to consider ways to reduce this period in future jobs. All things considered, I recommend him without reservationAug 7, 2015Verified

Definitely well priced and professional! We did family photos outside and it was an overall great experience. If you're looking for a dependable and affordable photographer, you can definitely count on chuck!Jan 24, 2015Verified
He was real good working with the scheduling and taking the pictures. I was disappointed with the pictures. As professional photographer he should have known what was in the picture he was taking, he got apartments in most of the poses he took of me.Dec 18, 2014VerifiedChuck Gerloff Photography's reply
Our written Agreement was for pet photography, and pet photography was clearly stated in the heading of the Agreement. You didn't hire me to take photographs of you, you hired me to photograph your friend's dog, Brody, and I took 85 photographs over an hour's time. I edited and published 48 images of the 85 images for your use, and only 4 of those images had some slight structures in the background. I charged you my basic fee of $50.00 for pet photography and not my basic fee of $75.00 for a portrait photography session. It takes me more time to edit and adjust portrait photographs than pet photographs. The addition time needed for portraits is due to the fact that I edit the undesirable backgrounds, like apartment buildings, out of the prints my clients request. The location of session's site, Pagoda Oriental Garden, is surrounded with upscale apartment and town home buildings. I offered to take a few photographs of you as a courtesy - 26 to be exact. Your criticism is unwarranted and somewhat thoughtless. I've done quite a few portrait sessions in the Oriental Garden and I'm very familiar with the background issues there; however, I always inform my portrait clients of the background buildings and that I will do my best to pose them without the buildings.
- What types of customers have you worked with? The most common type of jobs I do for various clients are wedding, events and portraits. I specialize in weddings and enjoy working with the bride and groom planning the photography part of their special event. Whether I'm working with a client on a wedding, portrait session or special event, I find the interaction with the client for their event stimulating and always enjoyable.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?I like my customers to know what they want and research various providers for quality, price and depth in their offering. Don't pick a provider based on price alone, remember, you get what you pay for. Check the provider's website for samples of their work, references and contact information. If the provider doesn't have a website, or any other web presence, then buyers beware! In todays market a provider needs to have an active strong web presence to attract customers and take every opportunity to let the market know presence of their business. The most important advice I offer a potential customer is do your homework before picking a provider.
