What really stood out was the attention to detail. I watched a bit on my cameras and could see the care that went into the job, including a clean second pass on the taller areas and nice edging around the trees and mailbox. The work looked fantastic when it was done. He followed up afterward to make sure everything met my expectations, which I appreciated. He is professional, friendly, and clearly takes pride in his work.
I have already lined him up as my go-to for the rest of the season. Highly recommend SCI Layouts if you want quality work and someone you can count on.

What really stood out to me was the level of personal customer service he provided. Unlike several other companies that simply sent me an automated link estimate system and expected me to figure everything out myself, Hancell actually called me, came out to the property in person, and walked the area with me. That made a huge difference because I did not need the entire property serviced—only specific sections. With the automated systems other companies used, there was really no good way to explain that or accurately assess the work needed.
In a time where technology often replaces personal interaction, I truly appreciated that Hancell still believes in direct communication and taking the time to understand my needs as a customer face-to-face. That level of professionalism and customer care is becoming rare.
He tackled an area of my property that had not been touched in years due to Dominion Energy work being done nearby. The area had become heavily overgrown with weeds, small trees, and even a large downed tree that had been lying there dry-rotting for quite some time. Hancell came in and completely transformed the space. The attention to detail, professionalism, and quality of work were beyond impressive.
The project covered almost an acre, and the final result was beautiful. His pricing was very fair and competitive, especially considering the amount of labor and cleanup involved. It’s rare to find someone who combines strong work ethic, excellent communication, reliability, and true care for the work they do—but Hancell delivered on all of it.
SCI Layouts, LLC is definitely an up-and-coming company to watch. If you need landscaping, brush clearing, property cleanup, or detailed outdoor work done right, I would not hesitate to recommend them.
I definitely plan to use Hancell and SCI Layouts, LLC again for other landscaping and lawn service projects around my property in the future.
