We hired Bruce to tutor my step-daughter in precalculus. He has been such a help to her, she feels comfortable working with him, he is kind to her and is able to explain things to her in a manner she understands. We will continue to use Bruce when she is having trouble with a topic. He is always on time, very patient with our dogs who always pester him for attention and he is just a good person. I would recommend him to anyone as he also knows his math!Jan 10, 2019Verified

Bruce is an EXCELLENT tutor! After only two weeks of tutoring my daughter, he helped her raise her SAT math score by 80 points. She was thrilled, and so was I. If your child needs a tutor, Bruce is the one!Sep 15, 2018Verified
Bruce helped me in a time of need with College Algebra. I have been out of school for 4 years and the information was dusty, he had great way of explaining and constantly reassuring me that we were going to figure it out. Definitely recommend Bruce he is a great tutor!Sep 5, 2018Verified

Bruce worked with me for an hour and a half and was so knowledgeable. He worked to understand my current math level and then increase it. I feel confident that he can help me increase my SAT score to what I want it to be. P.S make sure you have cash or check for payment!Nov 8, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My pricing system is rather straightforward. It is $34/session Each session lasts 75 minutes. Most pros offer only 60 minutes. However, I will lower my fees because of your financial status. I see so much potential, I want all students to succeed. I do ask you pay per session either by cash or by check.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The initial conversation with the parents is about the needs of the student. I also interview the students and have them tell me where they think their weaknesses are. I try to form a plan outlining reasonable goals including frequency of visits.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I majored in mathematics at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. I received an honorary key. I then trained to be a doctor and practiced biostatistics. I have taught high school students to engineers. I am qualified to teach from pre-algebra to advanced algebra and geometry. I have taken many courses to maintain my credentials as well as courses to teach mastery on certain standardized tests, including SAT, ACT, PSAT, etc. I HAVE DEVELOPED DIFFERENT PROGRAMS FOR MY STUDENTS. I love tutoring. I am able to reduce concepts to basic principles that are easily mastered. I go at my student's pace and encourage questions. KNOWLEDGE IS GREAT,BUT THE ABILITY TO TEACH IS EQUALLY IMPORTANT. I TAKE COURSES TO IMPROVE MY TEACHING SKILLS.
