I had a great experience with the estimation, execution and communication aspects of my project and J. Portillo Construction LLC. The project and site managers were responsive and responsible. They cared about developing and implementing a solution to my foundation/water/masonry problems that was within my budget. It was a pleasure to work with them and my project was completed on time, within budget and with a high quality result.
Good work. Attention to detail. Painting of external foundation and rebuilding a small retaining wall completed in 1 day and cleaned up after themselves well.
Excellent service. I hired MJ for water damage on drywall but after an evaluation they then determined that's mine Foundation was leaking as well. So they fix the drywall and repair the crack in the foundation and I couldn't be happier with the customer service and the work that Saturday would definitely recommend them.
This crew replaced my asphalt driveway with a new concrete one, rebuild my stone deck/patio to correct a foundation error made by the original builder, And relayed the brick sidewalk from my front door. They were thorough and professional – obviously very skilled in their work. They did all of the work with care and completeness. Gabriel, the boss, is a master of his craft; he made sure he was there at all of the important points in the projects. His crew were courteous and competent The work started on time, finished on time and looks great. Lots of favorable comments from the neighbors.
Gilberto is the owner of GAN Construction, he was extremely professional and followed through on everything he said he would do. The quality of the work performed was excellent!! We will be using GAN again.
Doug Campese rebuilt the foundation of my barn when my insurance threatened to cancel me for an unsafe structure. Doug did an excellent job, saved the insurance and saved the building. He also came in far below any competing bids. He is an excellent mason and an honest man.
Just a note to let you know how much I appreciated the actions taken by JR Trundle, who visited our home tonight due to the emergency after hours call I made to Aqua Guard. As it turned out, the problem was an inside water issue which was totally unrelated to the work being done by Aquaguard. Even with this being the case, JR stayed to assist me with pinpointing the issue, and he didn't leave my home until he was sure that I had formulated a plan of action to get things resolved. Needless to say, JR took a special interest in our concerns, and he even dropped whatever he was doing, and without hesitation came out immediately to see what he could do to put us at ease. JR represented himself and his company in an exemplary fashion, and he is to be commended. I wish to thank Aqua Guard for allowing JR to be a part of our lives. We will be forever grateful for the level of dedication and commitment shown on his behalf. He truly rose above and beyond the call of duty to assist a client in need. I will refer Aquaguard to my network for any basement or foundation needs. The are a class act and we are very satisfied with their services
I don't usually do surveys or post reviews, but in this case, I feel it is deserved. My husband and I were approaching the last week before settlement on our home when we learned that the buyer's inspector found a crack in the foundation. We panicked, as we didn't know a licensed contractor to fix it and we were under a tremendous deadline -- we were beyond stressed out. I learned that Dave Mauldin, a person that attended my church, had started his own company, Mission Home Services, and they take care of foundation cracks. I looked at it as divine intervention! I contacted him and he came over that same day. He quickly identified the root of the crack, explained the process to repair it, and calmed our concerns. He literally gave up his weekend family time to do the work so that we could settle on our home as scheduled. He is very knowledgeable about his trade. My husband and I were very confident in his work, the buyers were happy with the results, and our home settled on time. I found Dave to be honest, trustworthy, and dependable. I highly recommend Dave Mauldin and Mission Home Services.
Tom responded last May to my request on Thumbtack for some tricky foundation repair on my parents' house. His Barcroft Builders crew did an incredible job at a very fair price, compared to what the others were quoting. He explained how the job would be done, wrote a very detailed task description and estimate, contracted with an engineer to design the solution, and made sure all the proper county permits were obtained. They did such a great job with the foundation work, I had them do other updating work as well - kitchen, foyer, and bathroom tile flooring, repair work on brick, and many other things. I can't say enough about Tom and his crew - he has a rare combination of expertise and heart. I highly recommend them for all your contracting needs. I would not hesitate to hire them again for future work.
The contractor did a great job he definitely knows about concrete. I am happy with my foundation we are now building a three story addition. The only downside was it took longer than I expected but I know that the foundation will not crack according to the inspector
Kelvin Durante Construction LLC is a company of capable masons. They are skilled at laying block foundations, pargetting, brick veneer, chimneys, stonework, and patios.
Alan was locally contracted; only lives a couple of neighborhoods over. Alan looked over the house very closely and took his time to really explain and answer all my questions/concerns. I could have very easily been mislead if it weren't for his complete honesty. I thought I had major structural issues. Turned out I had a dip in the floor caused by a structurally sound, but not straight floor joist. All the other foundation/settling speculations like interior doors not closing right, he explained were because my doors are cheapest builder grade and warp over time due to humidity. The house is 23 years old. He combed the house inside and out. During his inspection, unrelated, he even identified one loose duct that needed to be reconnected that channels heat to the second floor. I moved in late this summer, so I haven't had time to identify all the quarks of my house, but quickly repaired the connection with duct tape and a couple of gutter screws. Alan again did a great job explaining how my house was built and what he was looking for. Since I did not need any repairs, there were no charges. I tried to tip him enough for a nice lunch, but he politely said he was going home for lunch (less than a mile or two away) before his next job that day.
We had the pleasure of working with the owner of this company a few years ago when we needed to rebuild our large 2500 square foot paver patio. It was a huge job as the original (failing) patio need to be demolished, rebuilt with new materials, and rebuilt with a much improved design, lighting, entrance and exit points, walkways, outdoor kitchen, pergola, outdoor fireplace, etc. The design is beautiful and since we had some original ideas, they worked with us to try new ways of building certain areas for the best possible visual and structural results. Their knowledge was not only centered on the design and structure of the patio but the entire surroundings such as flow of people on/off the patio, the variety of functions on the patio, as well as making sure drainage around the house and patio were optimal so as not to damage the house/foundation or any surrounding structures on the property. They are very professional, knowledgable, trustworthy, and truly take pride in their work. They went above and beyond in making sure that the whole package was of the highest quality at a very fair price. The workers are very personable and pleasant and cleaned up daily. We highly recommend them!
What a true joy it has been to find a company like Lux Foundation Repairs that has such quality standards for their work. Alex Stieb is very professional in every way and treated the repairs to my home as if it were his own. He was very considerate of my needs and concerns. He took the time to explain the problems , yet he didn't try to pressure me into a lot of unnecessary repairs and work. They were able to save me a tremendous amount of money on the overall job. They started on time and worked efficiently in getting the job done in a timely manner. I couldn't ask for a better job on the foundation work they did. Having had worked in the real estate industry I know how important it it to have quality repairs for the foundation of your home. I am a very satisfied customer and would recommend this company to anyone who needs work done on their home. Alex went above and beyond in providing quality workmanship on this job.
Mr.Jimenez is extremely professional, courteous, and friendly. He pointed the back side of my home...three stories...made certain I had no foundation issues- which meant replacing some brick...and he repaired my roof and replaced my gutters. His work is exceptional. What struck me as so refreshing is that Mr.Jimenez treated my home as though it was his. He and his crew are extremely detail and quality oriented. It is obvious that they take pride in their work. Also, unlike other services which I had received quotes from, no unnecessary work was recommended. There was never an effort on his behalf to upsell. I truly appreciated that. If integrity, quality, and reasonable cost of services is important to you- then I highly recommend speaking to Masonry Restoration Services. I have already recommended his services to my neighbors and friends. Thank you again Mr. Jimenez for such excellent work and communicating with me every step of the way what needed to be done. And thank you for cleaning up better than I would have myself!
We had water coming from an unknown source pooling in our basement. Roland came out and took a look. He arrived at the agreed upon time and called 10 mins before the appointment to confirm he was on his way. He had figured out the issue in only 15 mins and fully explained the problem. He was honest that plumbing services were the best place to turn to resolve the problem and was genuinely glad for us that there was not something wrong with the foundation (which would have cost thousands to fix!). Thank you for the wonderful service!
Count yourself fortunate if you have an opportunity to work with Fairfax Marble And Tile. Installing a new floor or bathroom is often fraught with anxiety, but you can set your fears aside when you put yourself in the hands of Ben Dyer and his crew. Considering the widespread recognition the company has received for its creations, not to mention its winning entry in the Residential Natural Stone category of the Tenth Annual National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) TileLetter Awards, it is almost an understatement to say that Ben Dyer will deliver a high-quality product. Customers in Northern Virginia have a right to expect that their projects will be done well and in a timely fashion, and Fairfax Marble And Tile will not disappoint them. What customers may not expect, however, is the personal service that accompanies every aspect of the job. Phone calls and e-mails are returned promptly, a supervisor is always available to answer questions, and Ben does 95% of the work himself and visits all work sites on a daily basis. So focused is the attention that you may even be lulled into thinking that you are the only client, when in fact, you are simply one of many discriminating homeowners who have chosen Fairfax Marble and Tile.. Exasperated with subcontractors? Suspicious of temporary laborers? Worry no more, for as the Fairfax team includes carpenters and plumbers as well as master tilers who have all been certified by the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation- subcontractor delays and incompetent workmanship will be a thing of the past. Furthermore, Ben plans in advance and executes on schedule, minimizing any potential disruption to your household. Most importantly, perhaps, he also offers a five-year guarantee on his work--a guarantee that is far longer than those provided by the majority of his competitors. Home improvements can be unpredictable and costly; why take a chance on a company with less experience when Fairfax Marble and Tile will do the job right the first time." A. Simko
