When I first met the landscaper he seemed very nice and helpful. I have a townhouse with a very small yard. I had already ripped up all the grass from the yard and needed sod laid, 3 shrub roots pulled (just the roots, I already removed the shrubs myself), a thorn bush pulled and mulch put down. He said he would make it look beautiful for $150. I decided that I also wanted him to plant a small tree (3 foot tree) also & asked how much he would charge. When he came back to discuss planting the small tree... he took back his original price for the rest of the work we agreed on & said he never said $150 for the rest of the work and finally gave me a price of $270 for the whole job, which I agreed to, I just wanted it done. When he came to do the job he was late. He came with 4 other men and the job took a little over an hr. He asked me to buy sticks to hold up the the small tree (I had to go to two places to find it, inventory was low), then he called rushing me, saying he needed to go to the other job. I was back by the time he had completed the work. When I came back they were packing up, I went in to grab the check feeling very rushed. After they left I noticed he did not trim not bushes properly. They are two different sizes (square and round). I asked him later if could come by just to trim them properly (he assured me they would look beautiful before he started the job, they did not). He argued with me saying I should've said something before he left. I explained I felt rushed and he was the professional and shouldn't have left knowing it wasn't right. End of story, he called me demanding and now my neighbor graciously is going to complete what should've been done by the landscaper. The job overall was not bad but the follow through, the tardiness, the pushiness and the customer service was disappointing at the end. People told me I was getting ripped off for such a small yard. I should've listened.
