FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $65/ Hr. with a 3 Hr. minimum for small projects or handyman tasks. I prefer to set fixed prices for an entire project however this requires a very detailed design and selection of finishes. If you do not have a complete design, I am happy to work with you to figure out exactly what you are looking for. For design and development of a project design, I charge $50/ hr with an agreed upon amount paid up front. The more specifics you know about what you want, the less a design will cost.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every customer is different and I consider it extremely important to build a relationship before we enter into any type of agreement. Typically I like to see detailed pictures of a project and discuss a clients needs over the phone. Often in this step, I can help customers narrow down the decisions they need to make to a point where I can give them a rough estimate of cost.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.S. in Construction Management, and I have worked for both production and fully custom builders. I have overseen the construction of countless homes from foundation to final punch-out, and worked with customers to exceed their expectations on each one. My highest qualification as a manager was that I also have to ability to, and enjoy performing top notch work. Woodworking is my specialty, but I am educated in the materials, methods, and associated building codes with most other trades. I continue to learn something new every day.
