Good price, has structure to his lessons, and sends notes and song sheets. On par with the best lessons I’ve ever had, and far superior to guitar center.Jun 15, 2019Verified
I'm brand new to the guitar and would not be progressing as quickly and skillfully as I am without Mike's instruction. Mike has been thorough in his lessons, meaningful and helpful in his feedback (love the notes provided after each lesson), and an all-around pleasure to spend time with. Highly recommended!Jun 24, 2019Verified
I’m a 60-year-old beginner and after trying to self teach for several months, I decided I needed some more structure and help. Mike has been amazing! He laid out a plan during the first lesson, reviews what we do through follow up emails, and has been extremely helpful every step of the way. There are two things that I’d especially like to point out: Mike is extremely knowledgeable about the guitar and communicates his knowledge in easily understood terms. The second thing is more important to me, I think, and it’s that Mike really builds confidence. To me that’s important because as a beginner progress can seem really slow, But every time I have a lesson with Mike, I leave inspired and ready to play more. Mike is a really great instructor, and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to learn to play or wants to improve their current level.Oct 19, 2019Verified
Guitar Lessons (for children or teenagers)
I was looking for guitar lessons for my son as a Christmas present. I wasn't sure how long the excitement would last. Mike has been fabulous in working with my son and stoking the fire of interest. My son looks forward to his lessons every week and gets real excited about the progress he's made. I can't speak highly enough about how Mike has helped and encouraged my son.Jun 14, 2017Verified
Mike has taught my son for almost two years, he is Passionate about teaching , never rushes him, and routinely goes past the 30 minutes booked so he can teach one more thing! Mike will continue to teach guitar lessons to my son until he goes away to college, we could not have found a better instructor.Oct 15, 2016

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I started teaching guitar when I was 16. I've been in rock, blues, jazz, folk, and church praise bands over the years. During the Christmas season I perform at various retirement centers in the Manassas area. In an effort to introduce music to the next generation, I've taught, at no charge, the guitar to students in the Manassas Boys and Girls Club as well as Youth For Tomorrow in Bristow. I've taken music courses in high school and college as well as an extensive course in music theory and jazz guitar.
