Just a great overall experience. 1800 sq ft of hardwood, 700 ft of baseboard, 700 ft of quarter round, and probably 20-25 sheets of plywood in 2 rooms to bring the floor level. They did all of this in 3 days with 6-8 guys. The 3rd day was just 2 guys to finish up the small stuff. I didn’t have to move any furniture as they just moved everything around as they laid the flooring. Top notch company in my books.

This has been the best Service from anyone in all the service industries I've use (plumbers, electricians, roofers, etc). They were the best priced. Very fast to respond, Mike even made time from his busy schedule to swing by and address some concerns. They worked with us, by sending crews out several different times as we built walls and made some last minute changes. Jodi, was great with call backs and updates on crew schedule. Actual worker bees were very polite, courteous and friendly. They would also call before showing up to let us know their ETA. Never late, never got a "sorry we left X back at the shop". They worked nonstop till the task was completed. They never left the site unfinished and always cleaned up and left site as if they were never there. Calling these guys next time without bothering to get quotes.

This appears to be a family-owned business in Prince William County, Virginia. I wanted my steps, dining room, and living room refinished and restained grey and chose this company amongst others because they seemed to have the best deals and a decent rating on Thumbtack. To make a long story short, after I hired Prospect Harwood Flooring for the job, the floor technician provided a stained sample on the floor. I chose a classic grey sample and specifically asked if the colour would look exactly like the sample once completed, and they firmly stated it would be exactly like the sample. After the completion, I noticed the colour was barely visible; one of their office staff contacted me to inform me that the work was completed and would charge me the final fee. I expressed that the colour was barely there; however, I acknowledged that the work was just completed, so I assumed it needed time to settle into the wood. She kindly told me that she would hold off on the charge and wait until the following Monday, 10/17/2022, to see if there were any improvements. I agreed. However, shortly after, I received a call from Mike Blot, who is, I believe, part-owner of this business/salesman. I explained to him that the colour was off and not the same as the sample; I was not happy with the final product. He began gaslighting me by aggressively repeating and overtalking me stating that was the colour I agreed to and there was nothing he could or would do to fix it. I thanked him and abruptly hung up the phone on him. I was done at that point. An anonymous number began to text me; I suspect it was Mike Blot; his entire tone was rude and condescending. (I would like to add he has never seen the completed job in person). I responded by sending my pictures to the anonymous number and told him I would report the company for bait and switch. The sender tried to intimidate me by threatening to sue me if I filed a complaint or submitted a negative review. Overall, my floors look light brown with a blotchy greenish-grey tint to the naked eye. I absolutely hate them! I have provided pictures. The circled green is what I choose, the other pics are what I received. Thumbtack shoppers beware!!!!!!!!
Prospect Hardwood Flooring, LLC's reply
Yes, Prospect Hardwood Flooring is a family owned company. Because of this, we take pride in our Customer Service and the quality workmanship of our projects. Before a project begins, we want to ensure our Customers are prepared on what to expect during the refinish process. Not only does our office staff explain in depth on what to expect, the Customer receives a detailed contract that too includes the expectations of the project which the Customer signs, acknowledging they have read and understand. Prior to start of the project, the Customer receives an email explaining the color test process. Within this email it states: It is possible, after the project is complete, the stain may appear different in other areas due to the age of the wood, the grain in the wood, lighting, windows, time of day, paint color, etc.. During the color test, our process includes showing the Customer a 2’x2’ stain sample(s) on their sanded wood, to see how it will take the stain. We cannot guarantee that every floor board throughout the area to be refinished will take the stain the same throughout. We apply the stain color chosen by the Customer, throughout the areas, in the same manner from start to finish.
