FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prices are based on per truck load. Half truck load or full truck load. My prices do not change based on weight. I recycle and donate as much as I can so what ends up at the landfill is minimal which brings down load weight and keeps dump fees low. (This is a little long please keep reading!) I do at times sell items from jobs an example of this is I took away a washer, dryer, treadmill and step machine. I charged for half a truck load to the junk customer. I found the washer and dryer were broken however I took the main control unit (the button panel) off the washer and the spin motor off the dryer and sold them. The treadmill and step machine were old and neither goodwill or salvation army would take them. I was able to part out these machines and sell some of the parts on ebay and I was able to recycle the rest. (Almost done!) Another example is I took away a full truck load of trash a mattress, box spring, clothes, electronics and other misc items from someones house that was moving. I charged them for a full truck load (my truck was definitely overloaded) but still only charged for a full truck load. I was able to donate most of the clothes and non broken toys. I separated all paper, cardboard and metals to be recycled (no charge to me to recycle). I was able to fix and or part out some of the electronics and resold the parts or full units. (My degree is in IT I can fix electronics and I can test parts) Wood items like the box spring was broken down to be used in my fireplace. Out of a full truck load the only thing that went to the landfill was the mattress and some other non recyclable pieces. My weight went from 1100 pounds (cost to dump 28$) to 470 pounds ($9.00 in dump fees.) (Last bit!) Why am I telling you all of this? With a little extra work I can keep costs down for the junk removal customer. Keep as much as possible from going into the landfill. Donate items to be reused by those in need. And make a little extra money for myself instead of charging the junk customer more to get rid of everything. I hope this helps your decision thank you for reading all the way.
