Introduction: I have a true passion for makeup and photography. I have been in the beauty industry for over 16 years and doing photography as a hobby and studied since the age of 16. I finally decided to "put myself out there". My work stands out because I communicate with my clients. I like to find out what they are looking for, what are their expectations? I go through the process and give my advice and ideas as well. I am also very honest if expectations seem greater than I can meet. That is usually not the case but again pre session or event phone conversations are key to a successful session and happy client. I am a natural light photographer. I can do studio sessions as well. My turning my photography into a business is just growing , There will be a website in the near future...working out what works best for myself and my clients. I can either go and be behind the scenes and do the makeup for events and for other photographers. Or I can do both:). I love enhancing peoples beauty and capturing moments to cherish. I love getting creative: Halloween makeup and face painting for parties as well. I love fashion forward portraits. Capturing children and families in natural light and casual settings.

We can't say enough positive comments about our experience! Michael was extremely friendly to work with- it was easy to arrange a time for our family photo shoot and she was able to come to a park near us that our family spends time at. She was extremely professional but also very relaxed making us all feel comfortable. Impressively, she managed to photograph two kids and a dog in multiple locations and arrangements. Her price was extremely reasonable. Most importantly- the quality of the pictures was amazing. She really captured the personality of our family and gave us photos that will long be treasured by us.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I really try hard to work with clients budgets. I do need to take in account travel , time and some business cost. So it's a per person/event. I really like to be fair and help make peoples days memorable and easy as I can be on the pocket. I am still navigating using Thumbtack and still have found word of mouth working for me.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is about establishing a trustworthy and comfortable relationship. Communication is everything. Sharing ideas, making sure the client feels heard and confident in you. Check in just before or multiple times if necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed Esthetician in Virginia. My license is current . I have studied photography since I was 16. I learned in dark rooms and how to develop my own film. I continued my study of photography and the fine arts in college. My beingskincare and makeup obsessed, it was no surprise I ended up in the beauty industry. I studied esthetics and makeup at Yvonne de Vilar Scientific Skincare. Graduated in 2005.
