Tony and his crew were prompt, worked very efficiently and got the demo of a very undesirable linoleum floor done quickly exposing great original pine flooring in the kitchen. He was a great communicator and kept us in the loop as the process went along. They moved all the appliances without a single scratch and removed, without damage, all of the lower base cabinets in the kitchen, giving us the ability to put them back. He was able to remove the granite countertop so that we can reuse it. I definitely recommend him for his speed during the project and will be calling him again.

John is amazing! The quality of his work is outstanding! John mounted and hung two flat screen TVs for us. One was hung on the stone facade above our fireplace, and the finished product looks spectacular. For the other TV we needed to have power and cable outlets added higher on the wall for the TV. John handled both of these for a fraction of what I would have paid an electrician. He went the extra mile with everything and had planned out the options for the best way to handle both mounts. In addition to the high quality of the work, his price was extremely fair. Best of all, John is just a super nice guy! We are going to have John come back and handle other projects for us. I would highly recommend John to anyone for their home improvement needs!

Ramone did a great job in responding quickly to my posting after a wind storm came through and damaged our siding. Even though it was a Sunday, Ramone made himself available to estimate the job and provide me a day for the repair, which were made as promised. The employee sen out to do the repairs was courteous and professional. I couldn't even tell tell where the repair was made...he was that good....Awesome Job!!

David was outstanding to work with and he did a superb job installing a reclaimed lumbar wide pine floor. He was flexible and very professional to work with. I gave him a key to my house to come and go to get the job done and you could not ask for someone more qualified and trustworthy to install your flooring. He's the best!

John Land of Land Designs, LLC installed sod, a gravel and stone walkway, cleared a portion of the yard, and mulched the beds. John was very professional to work with and provided a quote in a timely fashion. His pricing is fair and while meeting with me to provide an estimate he gave input and advice on the work that I was requesting. The execution of the work is flawless and John went above and beyond to provide extras, even going so far as to line the bottom of my shed with bricks so that the mulch didn't make contact with it and repairing a huge pothole in the service alley directly behind my parking space. The work was finished in a timely fashion and everything looks great. I would recommend John Land to anyone who asks and will be sure to contact him for any future projects that I have.

Michael traveled over 2 hours and was very professional when he arrived for a full front landscape make over estimate. His quote was very reasonable and he estimated 2 days to complete the job. Michael leveled the front yard, removed all debris, created a kidney shape garden bed in the center of the yard and laid all new sod around the bed. He also mulched and planted all plants in the garden bed. The work was completed in the heat of the summer. The only thought that I regret now is that Michael didn't return back to see how all his work progressed in the following 4 weeks. But we understand that the 2 hour commute prevented a follow up visit. Our front lawn is the envy of the neighborhood. All of our neighbors and ourselves have struggled to have a decent curb appeal. All of our neighbors give us thumbs up when they drive or walk by. We would definitly use Stoneridge for any future projects or highly recommend them to our firends and neighbors.

Excellent work, very meticulous. He did a glass tile backsplash and some stacked stone on our fireplace and kitchen knee wall. Would hire him again for future projects.

It is with great pleasure we are writing this review for an outdoor project on our property in Williamsburg done by Melllis Custom Carpentry. We live on a tidal creek leading to the James River and we wanted a walkway that would stretch from the bottom of our deck stairs to a creekside kayak put-in. The path would follow a sloping dirt path through trees and shrubs. We interviewed several companies including Mellis Custom Carpentry and were immediately impressed with Adam Mellis, the owner. He grasped our vision for the walkway and was able to articulate a number of ways to accomplish it. We would have liked a stone pathway but because we were concerned about the tree roots that would have to be cut to build the base Adam suggested a raised wood walkway. He sketched out a preliminary design which would have concrete piers with wood support beams attached. The walkway deck would be laid over joists going from beam to beam. The walkway would curve through the woods. Adam’s price was competitive and reasonable and we agreed to move forward. Adam didn’t cut corners. All his work was inspected and approved by the appropriate James City County inspectors. James City County requires special hardware on parts of the framing to guard against hurricane damage. Adam did more than required, explaining that it would enhance the security but also lead to a more solid product—and it did! After work had begun we decided that we would like to have edging on the walkway and Adam suggested using 2 x 10s that would be bolted to the supporting beams. He would use clamps to bend the lumber to follow the curve of the walkway. It took a lot of work for Adam but the curves look so nice and natural. For the amount of work involved, the time taken to complete the project was reasonable. Adam would keep us informed if he would be delayed. Susan, in the office, was very pleasant to deal with. She quickly sent “Paid” invoices after I had paid the various agreed-upon draws during the contract period. Adam was meticulous in his workmanship. We saw him cutting tapers into deckboard after deckboard so that they would produce an esthetically pleasing curve. If the curve didn’t look right to him he would redo it. The end product was magnificent. People who have seen it are very impressed. After the James City County inspector ended his final inspection he told us that the walkway “looked like it should be in a National Park.” Without reservation we recommend Mellis Custom Carpentry for your next project.
