Introduction: I'm a wife, mamma to a 2 year old little boy, an artist, and a lover of dogs, 90's music, and abstract art. I'm a Virginia girl with equal love for California sun and New York grunge. I see the most beauty in imperfect things. Ripped jeans. Asymmetrical art. Vintage everything. And a photo with a little grit and grain. I love things that are rugged and little bit off the beaten path. With camera in hand since high school I have owned my business for six years. My husband encouraged me to start my business and it has been my baby. When I see the emotion in other people, it charges me. I learn something from every person I photograph — not just about photography or business or art. But about what it looks like to love people unconditionally. About how families can come together even after hard things happen. And how the strength of community shines through in the smallest details of our lives. Each wedding is different. Each couple is different. But every one that I’ve worked with has brought me new perspective and a new appreciation for how love can change peoples’ lives.

Portrait Photography

I was in a bind and looking for a photographer for a family photo of 10 adults and 10 kids on short notice. Nicki responded within minutes with her availability and packages, and saved the day! The shoot itself was flawless: she expertly navigated a rowdy bunch (5 different families with kids from 8 months to 14 years old), scouted the location for the best photo spots, and captured some really classic, priceless memories for us. Thank you so much, Nicki!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I do my best to tell you everything that is included in each package so that nothing is hidden from you and no extra fees are tacked on. I use a platform called Honeybook to get you setup so that you can easily pay online.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

A new client/couple will reach out and once they do then I send a few questions back to get to know them , how they met, the proposal, or if it's for headshots, a little about the project. Then if the client is still interested I will set up a time to either Facetime, or meet in person. If the person feels like we are a good fit I will send a contract over via Honeybook which is the platform I use for clients.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied art at James Madison University, with a concentration in photography. I have taken countless workshops, been mentored by some of the industry's best, and have many weddings under my belt. I am constantly trying to learn more and better my skills. In order to serve my clients best I believe I must always be learning, growing and changing.
