FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have taken piano lessons since age 8 and was involved in Madrigal Chorus and other challenging vocal groups for many years in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach before moving to Richmond, VA. I now have a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema from Virginia Commonwealth University and a double minor in French and Gender, Sexuality & Women's Studies.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with clients of all ages and walks of life, from a 6 year old girl from Richmond to a 65 year old man from Bangladesh. I love to work with anyone who has the desire to learn and the motivation and drive to achieve their musical goals.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Customers should consider the following topics before approaching a professional: - What are my short-term (in the next 2-4 months) and long-term (in the next 2-5 years) goals for studying music? - What songs do I want to learn in my first year of lessons? - What genre of music do I want to master through lessons (classical, pop, jazz, etc.) - How often do I want to hold lessons with my instructor? Twice a week? Once every other week? - How am I going to organize my time and schedule once I start taking lessons to effectively leave time for myself to practice what I am learning during the week? Learning a new skill requires practice, and lots of it. So be ready to put aside certain things and focus on your practicing! - How am I going to HAVE FUN with my lessons and my new instructor? Are there games or activities we could incorporate in each lesson to mix things up a bit?
