Introduction: As a former elementary and current high school math teacher, I offer the opportunity to help your student love math again. My experience spans from basic arithmetic to college statistics; but beyond subject mastery, I provide comprehensive support in addressing foundational gaps, homework help, test preparation, and social and emotional mentorship. My proficiency also extends beyond math, encompassing English instruction from preschool to graduate school. What sets me apart is that my current job allows me the opportunity to teach math to students with neurodivergent needs (specifically ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and dyscalculia) on a 1:1 basis. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For pre-planned tutoring sessions (i.e. at least 5 days' notice), I charge $55/hour. For sessions that need to take place within 48 hours, I charge $60/hour. For "emergency" sessions (i.e. same day sessions/sessions after 10 PM EST), I charge $70/hour. No-shows or same day cancellations are a flat fee of $60.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For recurrent tutoring, the first session is free as I typically use it as a get-to-know-you session! I use this session to get information about your student and learn about anything you need support with. Again, this first session is free, given there is no tutoring taking place. It's deeply important that we build a connection before you entrust me with your education! If there are no plans for recurrent tutoring (i.e. "emergency" tutoring, one time homework help, etc.), the session will be charged at the normal rate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in the education field for the past 12 years in multiple capacities! I have worked as a tutor both privately, and for a company, and have taught in both the public and private school realms.
