FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually estimate by the hour. Climbing is one rate, ground work is a lower rate. This saves the client money. I breakdown the estimate into separate services by tree. That way the client see what each item costs to do, and can decide what is most important. Also if they want to provide ground help and/or do the cleanup they will know how much that saves on the final bill.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In order to maintain my certification we have to achieve 30 continuing education credits (CEUs) during a three year period. To achieve this we have a variety of options, magazine articles with a passing grade on the quiz count for one CEU. Conferences have workshops with the latest techniques and/or science count for around 3 CEUS.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I had my kids I needed to get out of the restaurant business due to the hours.
