April, on quite short notice, helped take care of setting up, serving, cleaning up, and generally making sure things functioned smoothly for a small wedding. She took the time to ask a number of questions in advance, and outline the timeline and tasks in writing. All were impressed with her ability to roll with what was there or not, figuring out how to function in a private home with its foibles, all the while being incredibly warm, cheery, and hardworking. From the first phone conversation with April I knew our wedding was in good hands. She was real and professional at the same time. We walked through the time line and she pointed out things that I have not thought about which was very much appreciated. Just as promised, the day of the event the crew showed up on time and were very warm and professional to us and our guests. They knew what to do and when without any direction, they showed great initiative. The best way I can describe the crew is they were there but not there, they blended in and did a great job. After I decided to plan a 70th birthday party for my father, I knew I wanted something different other than just a few guests at home. After speaking with the owner of ALD, April, about what I was looking for and what my budget was, she immediately started helping me brainstorm options for locations and vendors to take care of everything from cupcake orders to banners. She even went to visit the restaurant, see the room, and speak to the restaurant event planner before I could make it over to the location. April is super organized and has timelines and deadlines for each step in planning the event and she always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. When the day of the event arrived she had all of the materials as discussed and decorated the dining room with a beautiful black and gold theme. She provided everything from chair covers and table linens to balloons. Everything went as planned and she stayed around to make sure everything was on track. I'm so glad that I worked with ALD! - How did you get started doing this type of work?I have over 15 years in hospitality management and operations. My last corporate role was as a Director of Sales and Marketing for HILTON properties. I loved my busy role as a hotelier until I became pregnant. It was then that I made the decision to transition my hospitality background into my dream company!
