Introduction: I work exclusively with struggling readers and writers using a research-based, multisensory approach to improve students' written language skills.
Lessons are tailored to the needs of each student, and concepts are introduced in a logical, sequential order so that the gap between the student's potential and academic performance is closed.
Students gain independence with and confidence in their reading, spelling, and writing skills. Lessons are held in my office or online.

MaryAnna is the most wonderful language therapist ever! She worked with our very tight schedule when my 1st grade son was diagnosed with dyslexia and fit us in right away. They worked together for a year till we moved out of town. He learned so much from her and loved his time with her. It was a scary and frustrating time for all of us and she made it smooth, easy and gave us all a lot of confidence that things were going to be OK. My son is now a 4th grader in a school that focuses on language-based learning disabilities and is doing really well. I credit a lot of his success to the solid foundation that Maryanna provided him and also the self-confidence that he gained from being her student. I highly recommend her (and miss her!)

MaryAnna has worked with my son for 4 years. She had to practically start from square one with his letters and their sounds. He is now in 6th grade, reading at or above grade level and writing well thought out papers constructed correctly. She has the patience of a saint, and has customized each lesson for his needs. She has taught him the skills he will use to succeed at his college prep school.
