Lee B. says, "Wow, this guy is amazing. I contacted Odell about an issue i was having getting my NEST Thermostat Gen 4 installed. I was replacing the Gen 2 NEST Thermostat that I installed several years ago. I ran into an issue where the thermostat would not recognize the power connection. Odell called me promptly after my initial contact and I explained my issue to him. He told me this was something that he could possibly guide me through over the phone. (Famous last words. LOL). Ha had me try several different troubleshooting steps but nothing seems to solve the problem. After what seems like an eternity (it really was), I saw that I was not pressing the thermostat firmly into the base. Oops. My fault. After I corrected that, Odell had me go through the thermostat setup again. Still wouldn't detect the power connection. Odell was "almost" ready to set up a service call to come to my house when he then asked me, "Did you charge the thermostat first and how long did you charge it?" I told him that I did, in fact charge it before installing it and I charged it for about 30 minutes. He informed me that I should charge it for about 8 hours. Now, the skeptic in my was thinking that 30 minutes should be enough time and that he was just trying to get me off the call. Well....HE WAS EXACTLY RIGHT!!!! I woke up the next day, after charging the thermostat and behold, it actually worked. The man is a genius and I'm not using that term lightly. He was professional and patient the entire time and I truly appreciated that. I would definitely contact him for ANY HVAC issues that we have and I'm going to make sure our friends know about him too. Our new thermostat looks amazing and it's because of Odell that I didn't take it back to Lowes in frustration. LOL"See more
