- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am an integrative therapist utilizing psychodynamic and humanistic foundations. Through these modalities clients have the opportunity to explore themes such as meaning and purpose as well as the roots or origins of their current struggles. Interventions include an integration of traditional and alternative therapies including mindfulness-based cognitive therapies, yoga and other movement therapy, and nutrition essentials for mental health.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University and my Master of Arts degree in clinical mental health counseling from Regent University. This is a CACREP accredited program having undergone and met strict protocol set forth by the Virginia Board of Counseling. I received graduate training through multiple private practices in the Virginia Beach area, gaining extensive experience with clients of all ages and various mental health concerns (including anxiety and mood disorders, parenting, sexuality, behavioral concerns, self-harm, eating disorders, suicidal ideation, autism, oppositional defiant disorders, personality disorders, psychosis and more). Additonally, I am a member of the American Counseling Association.
