Colleen Paine

I've taught for 10 years at a high school in VA Beach. I have a degree in English with a teaching emphasis and graduated with honors from ODU. I've been tutoring students privately for one year, and I love it. It is rewarding to work one-on-one with students and see them improve. I can assist students in preparing for the English SOL, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, study skills, organization, writing skills, poetry explication, analyzing literature, and timed writing tips. In my 10 years of teaching, I have taught 9th and 10th grade core, 10th grade inclusion, and 10th grade honors, and I am AP and AVID trained. I excel at reaching students where they are and building their skills.
