Introduction

As Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors since 2006 with all the desktop editions and now our re-certification for QuickBooks On-line this year, we have real expertise with this software. And knowing QuickBooks makes it easier to learn other software! My practice has many years of business experience as owners and managers of several businesses as well as providing accounting/bookkeeping services to clients for over 20 years. We do not take on many new clients and are somewhat selective as to the types of businesses but it is more about the types of owner/managers. We love to work with clients that are passionate about their business! We want to be a partner not just a vendor! I and my staff all enjoy helping our clients be successful and training them on the basics of the financial side of their business. We also enjoy a good mystery and try to find short term projects that involve financial file problems, find and discover the errors, then fix and train as necessary. We really enjoy staying in touch with all our former clients as well through our free follow-up for any areas that were covered during the assignment.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I really want to work within the client budget but I am paying employees too. so my rates begin a $40 per hour and go to $75.00 for short term projects. But we will offer a fixed rate when possible.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
IBM site finance in Boulder, Colorado and Tampa Florida. Then managing small business start ups for 10 years before opening my own practice.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Accountants should prepare an engagement letter that lists the services or detailes the project to be completed for the client along with pricing and timeframes.
