About
Hi there! I'm Amogh, a Duke graduate and a strategy consultant at Bain & Company. For the past seven years, I've also worked as a standardized test tutor (SAT/ACT/GRE) and college admissions consultant. I've taught more than 80 students since 2019, and every one of my test prep students has raised their score into their target range, which is a good part of why I've held a perfect 5.0 rating on Thumbtack. My students have gone on to schools like Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, UC Berkeley, and the University of Washington. None of that comes out of a standard curriculum. I build every student a plan of their own: diagnostics, targeted practice, and error logs on the testing side, and on the application side, a story that begins with who the student actually is. Having been through all of this myself not long ago, I still remember what it feels like from the inside, and I now have the distance to see what genuinely mattered. I keep doing this work alongside a demanding full-time job for one simple reason: I love it. Reach out anytime, and let's unlock you or your child's full potential.

I highly recommend Amogh Pandey for college counseling and tutoring. He goes above and beyond in helping his students. My son worked with him for his college applications and seen success in securing admissions in top schools on his list and great scholarships. Amogh is diligent and dedicated and puts together an amazing college plan for his students. He makes sure they are successful in meeting their expectations. He has immense experience and is thorough and has helped my son from resume to college essays. He prioritizes his students success and is kind and encouraging. I am extremely impressed with his work and the results I have seen with my son is commendable. Though Amogh has worked several hours, there has been instances where he hasn’t charged me for those hours. I am appreciative of his hard work, sincerity. and dedication. He’s a great option if you are looking a college counselor or a tutor.

Amogh is one of the most considerate and king college tutors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Not only did he get me into UW Seattle, but he is still with me every step of the admissions process. He is an incredible individual and a wonderful person that can easily count as a friend, as well as a tutor. I couldn’t recommend him more!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $150/hour for my tutoring/counseling services.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before I even meet with a new student, I send over a few action items—such as diagnostic exams, writing samples, or a resume—to gain insight into their background and needs. By reviewing this information in advance, I can better understand the student’s strengths and areas for improvement before our first session.
During the initial meeting, we discuss the student's personal and educational goals. From there, I create a personalized study and course plan tailored to these objectives. Note: this plan remains flexible and can be modified as the student progresses, ensuring it always meets their evolving needs.
I also believe it's important to establish a strong personal connection early on! I strive to make each tutoring session enjoyable and engaging, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and unafraid to make mistakes. I believe my ability to connect with students helps foster the confidence necessary for long-term success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My undergraduate studies spanned Duke University and Dartmouth College, where I focused on a pre-law and pre-business track. Throughout my time at both institutions, I maintained a 4.0/4.0 GPA and received various honors, including Phi Beta Kappa, Highest Honors, Dean's List with Distinction, a Deans' Summer Research Fellowship (Summer 2024), acceptance into the Honors Thesis Program, membership on the Board of Trustees Finance Committee, the Rufus Choate Scholar distinction, the Phi Beta Kappa Sophomore Prize, and the James O. Freedman Presidential Research Scholarship.
In high school, I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Inglemoor High School and graduated in the top 1% of my class. The IB curriculum provided a rigorous, well-rounded academic experience across both the humanities and STEM fields.
Additionally, having (relatively) recently prepared for and taken standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, and GRE, along with advanced high school coursework, I bring current, relatable study strategies and skills that can help students succeed.
