FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my BA from Loyola University Chicago in Film Production.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been fascinated with storytelling and video is an excellent way to capture stories with both sight and sound. At thirteen, I re-created M. Night Shyamalan's 'Signs' with the use of my dads camcorder and my siblings as actors. Some critics might say it was too soon to release a re-make less than a year after the original. But more likely they'd say the shaky-cam, low production value, and inexperienced cast & crew is what you'd expect from a kids first movie. I continued to make movies with friends throughout junior high and high school. My camera and storytelling has steadied over the years. I created short films during my studies at Loyola University Chicago and I capped off my last summer in Chicago making a movie with friends on my most professional directorial debut, 'The Monkeys and the Elephants.' It's been twelve years since I made 'Signs' the re-make -- twelve years of experience I bring to every new project with excitement and professionalism.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
The 'BBHS Spring Sports Q&A' is my most recent project and favorite video I have done so far. I was given short notice on the project, but it was an exciting idea that I didn't want to miss out on. I organized the shooting schedule from March 14-19, 2016. Edited March 19-20 and finalized the edit on March 21st- in time for the sports assembly on March 22nd. I wasn't able to attend the screening, but the video was very well-received by students, teachers, faculty, and parents - jumping the chart on the BBHS Vimeo page.
