Fenner Construction did an amazing job! I highly recommend using them for anything you need done around your home. They got caulking done, installed fixtures in my kitchen and helped with taking apart some furniture. I will definitely use them again

Details: 2 - 5 hours (A few different projects) • Repairs • Installation • Kitchen • Bathroom • Plumbing • Tiling • Home

Appreciate the responsiveness and ability to take on a small exterior rot repair project promptly. Finding a reliable, quality professional inspires me to address more projects confidently in other areas of my home.

Jerrod Fenner (Fenner Construction) is amongst the very best, if not THE best, “handyman” in Whatcom County. He does excellent, tight, clean, work, whether in framing, detail, electrical, decking, siding, etc. On-time, to spec and written estimate, considerate of familial circumstances, Fenner Construction is a “find” in our very heated construction market.

Thank you Fenner construction! My experience was way above what I expected. I am so happy with the finished kitchen remodel. I was very apprehensive about the walls coming down. Your team was great! I would definitely recommend you to anyone for any job large or small. Thank you thank you!

After meeting Jarod In person and discussed what I wanted to do with my Kitchen remodel, installing a new counter top and wanting to add drawers where my lazy Susan was and potentially knocking down the dividing 1/2 wall to expand my kitchen area, as well as removing some cabinets over my refrigerator to add my height where my new refrigerator needs to install, I was told by Jarod it would be after Thanksgiving before he could start the remodel and I told him no worries because the oven I had ordered was not going to arrive until mid November.. I asked him to draw up a plan and quote and submit it to me, and I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM!? So I texted him, no reply, left a voice mail, no reply, called again, no answer! After SEVERAL ATTEMPTS by cell phone and texts, I was finally able to get him to answer his phone, only to be told He Dropped the ball on me and said that he “thought” I was going to order new cabinets and that I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do?!!! I was shocked !! I’m like Really?! He had been to my house , looked at the counter and missing lazy Susan , saw that I had already removed my dishwasher, and was very eager to get the remodel started ! He then told me that Now, he would not be able to start my remodel until January!! He made No effort to give me a quote , nor was he able to show me a design plan.. I knew he had recently started his business and was really green at it, which I told him, no worries that I understood that because he seemed really nervous talking to me.. So… my review is very poor. He left me hanging with No Attemps to follow thru with anything we had discussed. Obviously he doesn’t need the work because if he had, I would know that by the way he followed up with me. I’ve also noticed that his business has been removed from Thumbtacks website.. Sad thing is, had he made any effort to follow up with me, he would have had plenty of time to get a sketch and quote together because I am still waiting on an appliance due to it being back ordered . I’m sorry I’m giving him a poor review , but…. That is my experience I had with him.. I also told him that I understood that his business was new , that hiring someone to answer his phone calls and or msgs, or emails because when he fails to respond back because he’s “ overwhelmed” to delegate some of the weight he was carrying on his shoulders.. oh well..

Details: Full remodel of existing kitchen • No, plumbing will not need to be relocated • No, electrical will not need to be relocated • No existing plans, but have a good idea of what I want • Residential

You never hired me. I didn't do any work for you. People for whom I have done work have all left me 5 star reviews. You're right, I am very busy. I've temporarily removed my business from Thumbtack because I have plenty of other work. I didn't do your job because when I came to bid it, you smelled like alcohol and I saw other red flags. I gave you a ballpark number that you balked at. After your feedback, I will try to be crystal clear with people when I can't or won't do their job. I hope you find another contractor to do the job.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We will discuss the budget and the schedule and go over their vision and final product. Some times people will show me a picture and say, "I want that." Sometimes people don't know exactly what they want, but have a general idea, and we can work through the design together.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always loved fixing and building things. My Uncles were in the trades and taught me how to read a tape measure and it went from there.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

All walks of life, from newlywed to widowed. All backgrounds and structures from manufactured homes and ramblers to two story homes and stores in the Mall.
