Cary designed a multi-level deck as an addition to our existing home. Cary is very familiar with the local building codes, was able to give solid advise in this regard. During the design process Cary showed to be a very good listener, was patient and extremely collaborative in order to understand our requirements as well design goals for the addition. His turn around time was quick and the materials (drawings) provided for the county building permit as well our contractor were very clear and detailed. During the construction phase Cary worked effectively with the contractor addressing some questions and making some minor design changes. Overall the deck turned out to meet all our requirements, it looks great and the county building inspector was raving about the solid design of the deck.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The experience of a building a new home or a remodeling of an existing one is a very personal experience. There will be changes - exciting and frightening at times. The architect you select will guide through the process of design and construction. So it is important to select an architect that you are comfortable with and can trust. Each architect has a unique style, approach to design, and method of working. The best building projects result when architect and client work as a team.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

The architect is the owner's advocate. As the advocate for the home owner, an architect's first obligation is to ensure that plans are executed as designed. This is especially important during construction if changes in materials and construction procedures are proposed.
