Where do we start with Tandy? She gave us an experience beyond anything we could have envisioned when we approached her for lessons prior to our wedding.
Initially we planned to leverage Tandy’s services to give us (me as the much less skilled dancer in comparison to my wife) a framework for our wedding dance so we weren’t out on the floor swaying back and forth for the entirety of our first dance. We left with a fully customized routine that left our entire wedding guest list in shock and applause!
Tandy first set up a discovery call with us where she asked several relevant questions about our experience, attire for both bride and groom, goals, timeframe, ideal outcome, etc. and then set up our lesson plan. This gave us a lot of confidence because we felt heard, and built some great rapport with Tandy in advance of our lessons which would prove beneficial in our lesson productivity.
Once we actually met for the lessons, we had so much fun with Tandy! Not only did her professionalism and skill shine through but she is such a warm and kind human whose personality is so welcoming that we immediately let our guard down which made our lessons so enjoyable.
In our 5 sessions with Tandy, she ended up over-delivering on what we thought we wanted and ultimately led us into a fully choreographed dance that flowed extremely well and felt so easy to remember in just a few short lessons, along with some practice at home (which is highly recommended to make the most of your lesson time in studio).
Our wedding day went perfectly and the dance was flawless thanks to Tandy’s creativity and coaching. We got so many compliments from our family and friends (we kept it a surprise) and, most importantly, my wife and I have a core memory for life that we can truly smile about thanks to Tandy.
I cannot recommend Tandy’s services enough regardless of what style of dance you are trying to learn or your skill level (Tandy can coach experienced or beginner dancers equally as well). As someone who did not come gifted with the ability to dance and easily gets embarrassed on a dance floor, I not only felt confident in the routine Tandy created but also had so much fun and felt no embarrassment whatsoever because of her coaching. My wife and I have even discussed doing dance lessons together just for fun now that the wedding is over because we enjoyed the experience so much.
We owe so much to Tandy and can’t emphasize enough how much we recommend working with her!

Private Dance Lessons

I began taking dance lessons with Tandy as a complete beginner. From the first lesson it was clear that she is an exceptional dancer and dance instructor. In private lessons, she has a natural ability to communicate movement in a way that's tailored to my learning style. Her positive attitude made lessons a pleasure, and something I would look forward to each week. Tandy's help was not only invaluable in lessons, but also much later when I'd have my first part in a recital.
Recitals involve a ton of planning and coordination. A recital consists of several performances, each with their own choreography, lighting, and music, all united under a single theme. Throughout the lead-up to the recital, Tandy helped lead group choreography classes, edited together music, assembled props, and worked with me to refine my routine. On the day of the recital, everything went off without a hitch, which is a testament to Tandy’s skills as a communicator, organizer, and collaborator.
Overall, I not only gained dance skills, but I also gained a great friend. Tandy is an excellent instructor, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn how to dance or to improve their skills.

Tandy is patient, friendly and teaches in a way beginners can experience progress. My husband and I were new to ballroom dancing and took lessons for years. I highly recommend her as a teacher.

Tandy is such a dream to work with! Her upbeat attitude is infectious and refreshing, and makes the learning process so much fun. She is fantastic at breaking things down into bite-sized and manageable pieces, as well as scaling things up or down for different ability levels. I definitely recommend her to anyone wanting to learn how to dance, prepare for an upcoming event, or to improve their existing skillset. She's marvelous!
