We had a great photography session! Safiyyah was awesome and made the whole family + our dog comfortable throughout the experience. We did a pet+family session after finding out our dog has limited time left with us, so we were very particular about who we chose to capture our fuzzy family member’s spirit. Safiyyah was great at holding our dog’s attention (even though our dog is usually very distractable 😅 she’s a high-energy Cockapoo that rarely sits still) and directing the rest of the family into good poses. If you’re thinking about booking a session with Rae Dell, do it!!!

Safiyyah was nothing short of AMAZING! She found us when we lost communication, went above and beyond to help us carry things to our site in the arboretum, and kept working hard to take the best possible photos—even when one of the dogs had a tantrum! On top of it all, our gallery was lovely, and Safiyyah included many more photos than she promised. I will hire her again very soon!!! Endless gratitude!!!

I worked with Safiyyah to bring my costume to life at a convention. She was very through in her questions of how I wanted to bring my character to life. She also was helpful in finding a creative location to highlight my work. This year has been hard for everyone but looking at her pictures brings a smile to my face and keeps me hopeful for my next big event where I will be hiring her to photograph my latest quarantine projects.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Mini sessions (20 minutes) are $185 and all portrait sessions typically start at $350. Additional fees may apply for prints or added people in each session. Please refer to the website for full session and pricing details.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After a client has contacted me I like to get to know them a little more.
Sometimes I'll email them a questionnaire or have them fill one out on the site. Sometimes we'll just talk on the phone to get a sense of what they're looking for, what they like, what kind of photos have inspired them in the past. We'll then discuss locations, contracts, costs/packages, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took photography in college and have worked with clients over the years for various photoshoots. These range from a simple playful, candid outdoor shoot to a full setup with creative editing for effects.
