Josh with Alpers Painting was the first to respond to my request by a longshot. He was open to my small job of painting a ceiling and his pricing was very, very reasonable. I would have said 5 stars but he didn't come to the worksite with all the tools/equipment he needed .. he planned to run and get them, but I had them so I just told him to use what I had available. He arrived on time and came quite a ways to do my project. I would call him again in a heartbeat - and totally plan to!

COMPLETE SCAM — wasted $2k cash (half up front). Do not hire! WHAT I WAS PROMISED: 3 workers / job done in 3 days / using only the paint I specified (very common Sherwin paint) WHAT HAPPENED: : One person worked a couple nights over 7 days. First deadline missed. Second deadline missed, and he was unresponsive to calls and texts leading up to 2nd deadline. On the day of the 2nd deadline, 11 days since he started, he text saying he needed 5 more days. I said ok, then never heard back after I asked simple questions to confirm progress…he never continued working. I fired him and found new painters. WHAT WAS PROMISED: He said he would use the very popular and easy to source Sherwin Williams Extra White (satin), two coats. WHAT HAPPENED: He used cheap primer that barely covered the existing builder beige. Then lied about using the Sherwin product and said the Sherwin paint was not covering like he anticipated. I use this paint on all of our houses so I know it covers perfectly. I asked 3x for him to email proof of correct product purchase; he agreed; didn’t follow through because he was lying about the product. ADDITIONAL COMPLETE FAILURES: - Total disrespect of the house I hired him to paint: - He littered food, paper plates, dozens of cigarette butts inside and outside the house, cigarette packs, big-gulp bottles and other random garbage all over the front of the house. - spilled paint on the laminate - did not clean it up - He threw his fast food waste and cigarette packs on the kitchen floor instead of throwing away in an actual garbage. sticky sauce smashed into the kitchen floor. - He left cans of energy drink big gulp bottles and large used buckets of not-agreed-upon-paint in the house. Along with the equivalent of a one car garage full of industrial construction paper and tape used to mask the house. - He ruined his own masking after not even finishing applying one full layer of garbage-primer, then called me and told me the job was 90% done. When I got there he was fine and I was shocked. Obviously it wasn’t even close to half done. WTF. This guy is literally delusional. Now I have a house full of his painters paper waste and his personal garbage. - 20 days behind schedule to get the house re-rented and this guy made off $2000. - Every time I called him during the day he was obviously sleeping He didn’t take off any light / plug covers, move appliances or take off doors. - He took the key from the keybox home with so no other workers could get in the house when they showed up to do other jobs ABSOLUTE GARBAGE PERSON / “BUSINESS”
