I had a verbal agreement with Ron. I had many items to be done. He had to be continually reminded of what we had discussed and what was on the quote. He spoke to someone else about an item and came to me saying that a new door was wanted for the day light basement entry. Granted it did need a new door, we never discussed this and he begain selling me on the idea. I explained to him that I am the person paying the bill and all discussion for a change order will come through me. I also explained to him that if SHE was not happy, I was not going to be happy. I worked all day and she was home, with her eye on the different projects. At first there were three different things going and it seemed like organized chaos. Once they got going, things did start coming to gather. He did a few things that were not a part of the agreement and at first, I was not happy. After looking at it, I will have to agree, it did look better. Ron and the crew did a great job on the door, the new porch and the mew frame around the down stairs windows. Overall, I am happy with the results and the price. Get a detailed quote, insure you and Ron understand exactly what is to be completed and the price to do it. Then do a punch list after he says he is done. Look over the project with your significant other or a friend for a different pair of eyes to insure it is what you wanted. Then pay the final bill and get signatures. If I could post pics I would. It all does look good!
