PNW Home Improvement is an amazing outfit - Derek has helped me with a variety of projects over the past year, everything from a new deck to flood mitigation, drywall buildback and tile installation.
In every case, Derek and team are skilled, detail oriented, fast and fairly priced. He is a clear communicator, and makes it apparent who/when/how the work will occur + how it may impact our schedules and time at home.
He also is clear about the quotes and risks to the figures; there are always surprised with these projects, but Derek makes it clear where they could occur and the implications of them. If they do occur he makes sure you understand what is occurring, the implications and different paths forward.
Cannot recommend Derek more highly - great guy, great outfit, someone I really trust when I need help with my home.

Derek arrived on time to install a toilet valve. He was very polite, detail orientated and persistent to get the toilet to work. Unfortunately the parts that he had weren't cooperative, and Derek had to go get a box of new parts from Lowe's, and then within 10 mins the job was done to my satisfaction. Before he left Derek kept apologizing for the earlier inconvenience. Although the parts shouldn't cost as much, the overall price is quite reasonable. For his persistency and politeness, I would recommend PNHI to my friends.

This pro is amazing: diligent, reliable, detail-oriented, honest, friendly. He exceeded our expectations. He went out of his way to add special finishing touches.
We have a lot of exterior doors – front door, side door, and a total of 5(!) sets of French doors. All fir, all with a natural finish. After 20 years of exposure, they were badly weathered and I was worried that a couple of them couldn’t be saved. Derek refinished them all, and their door frames, requiring multiple coats. He also stained two concrete porches. Then he moved inside and repaired/refinished/touched-up baseboards, moldings, interior doors, kitchen drawers, etc. He even re-stained three Adirondack chairs.
It took more than two weeks in all. He was very diligent – he redid work when he wasn’t happy with how something turned out, and he made sure to get a perfect color match on everything. Unlike so many other contractors: he worked on this job from beginning to end without interruptions; he kept his word about his arrival times and work days: his personal standard for quality were higher than ours; he put in extra time to get the job right; he left us with some of the remaining materials and taught us how to do touch ups on our own.
It was the best experience we’ve had with a contractor in a long time.
