Children and Adolescents Parents and I meet to go over studio policies and answer questions, and we'll also schedule a time for an initial, free lesson with your child or teen. Once lessons begin, our first 3-5 are generally exploratory, eventually taking on content and pacing that fits your interests and goals.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a bachelor's degree in music with emphasis on piano from the University of Washington, and I am the Assistant Editor for Perspectives of New Music, the leading peer-reviewed journal of contemporary music theory. In addition, I have significant experience performing and recording on trumpet, including jazz and classical study at the Oberlin Conservatory. I have sung in numerous vocal groups, including The Esoterics and The Seattle Choral Company, as well as community musical theater productions. I've been teaching since 2004.
