FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Microsoft Office Specialist Master 2000, 2003 and 2007. These Microsoft certified exams are a proctored set of exams that test your skills as a Core user or Expert user in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common types of jobs are corporate training. In the last year, I've provided many "upgrade training" for companies who have upgraded from Microsoft Office 2003 to 2007, focusing on the new user layout and features. I'm currently working on a custom video library for a client who is upgrading to Windows 7 and has been dealing with a high call volume from employees who are having a difficult time finding their way around some of the new functionality. Last year, I flew to Hawaii on 6 separate occasions to provide ongoing training to clients back home, and to teach a few private classes at Kapiolani Community College.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A client in Hawaii contacted me to see if I would be available to provide a quick one-hour presentation on a few features in Word 2007 to their administrative staff during their sales and marketing annual meeting. The challenge was the meeting was in 3 days, and I was in Washington State. Due to the last-minute request, I offered a solution of providing the training via a webinar, something they hadn't considered. I tested it out with their IT department the day prior, and all went off without a hitch the day of. The training was a success, and they now have an alternative option for future requests.
