Julie did a really great and quick job on re-caulking our shower. We needed it fast as we were showing our house to prospective buyers, and she was able to make it on a weekend at the last minute. Highly recommended!
Eric did an amazing job cleaning/painting our deck, caulk the siding and fixed our toilet. He even came to finish the job at 7:30 in the morning to make sure we don't miss our scheduled event.
We had water damage in our master bath causing a rot behind the shower. Damage had spread to the subfloor, an adjacent bedroom, closet and to the siding. Jeff came in below two other bids. Jeff did a beautiful job and not only was hard working and efficient. He communicated with us well and was kind enough to alter his own schedule to work around our very crazy schedule. I would definitely recommend Jeff and will call him if any other work in our home should arise.
Bob Chapman is one of the most professional, friendly and meticulous person I have ever met. He reminds me of my dad. Bob repaired our threshold, door trim (inside and outside) as well as the rubber seals. He also made sure to caulk and weatherize the trim outside as the door has eastern exposure. Apparently the door frame was not installed correctly, which caused rain water to seep behind the frame, which eventually rotted. Bob is excellent and the result his work is practically perfect. I have two other jobs and possibly a third read and waiting for Bob to complete. Excellent work, friendly and professional man--Bob Chapman of Bella Designs.
I had some caulking done on a bathroom cabinet. Everything was perfect. Very happy. =)
Paul has done a variety of work on my rentals and on my several personal residences over the past 20 years. He called my number by mistake in 1994, and it turned out I was looking for someone to build me some steps, so it wasn't a wrong number after all--it was a fortunate coincidence. He is skilled in every phase of construction, knows the code, and never takes shortcuts which jeopardize the finished work, be it plumbing, electrical, painting, or remodeling/construction. Paul knows what tools to use and that makes all the difference in time required to do a job and the quality when it is done. Paul has built two storerooms for me, rebuilt a porch, I've seen balconies he has rebuilt, he's installed linoleum in several of my rentals, laid tile, remodeled a kitchen picking out beautiful cabinets, remodeled several bathrooms, put in a jetted tub, repaired water damaged sheetrock, texturing/painting (he's done lots of that for me), repaired a water leak in foundation wall, found where windows were leaking and repaired them, installed dining room fans, redid the ducting and installed bathroom fans where there were none, switched out all the old interior doors for 6-panel doors, installed mirrored sliders, installed vertical blinds and window blinds, opened the stairway wall to facilitate air circulation, squared the exterior storeroom doors so they closed properly, replaced all the exterior locks, replaced the interior door knobs installed recessed lights, hid all the wires in the wall behind the TV, he's a master at making molding look great and fixing the weird spots so they aren't noticeable. The tile around my fireplace I love--it is marble and stainless steel tiles we found at Lowe's--he picked it out. To coordinate, Paul used stainless steel tiles again and burgundy colored glass tiles (from Lowe's again) for the kitchen. It coordinates so well. And that is one thing Paul has--a good eye for decorating ideas. He's replaced toilets, sinks, vanities, you name it. Once he found a pin hole leak in the bathroom wall behind the toilet that no one else had been able to find. I'm rambling here trying to recall all the various projects he has done for me. One thing where Paul has been a great help is acting as a consultant. When I had water in my dining room he was very helpful in filtering what the various contractors told me so that they could not take advantage of my lack of knowledge. He did the same with regard to slab jacking. Once [unnamed plumbing company] gave me a $3500 estimate to replace the pressure relief valve at the water meter, when I told Paul he steered me on the right path--the $600 path. He advised me when I had all the windows replaced in a triplex I owned. He did the same when I got a 40-year roof and new gutters. It is no small task painting a 3-story building and he supervised that too. Five stars aren't enough really. I've seen him manage a crew and I've seen him work alone. I probably left off some of the work Paul has done for me, he's my first choice for anything and everything to do with remodeling and new construction. It is too bad that my name and email are not shown with this recommendation because I would be happy to talk to you about the work Paul has done for me over the years. Since I'm an attorney, I can add, tongue in cheek, that I make this declaration under penalty of perjury under the laws of State of Washington . . .
Israel showed up when we scheduled and delivered a clear bid. It was a bit higher than some others, but I felt confident in his abilities to complete the drywall, texture and painting (versus just painters). Paint work is 5 stars. Only issue was one texture location that was poorly completed. Israel was responsive and got it handled, but it took three tries. Overall, I would recommend (just perhaps with a new texture crew).
Specialty Roofing was professional and did quality work. They were on time and efficient. Charles didn't try to upsale me and was very informative on what was priority and what could wait. I would definitely recommend him and will be using this company in the future!
I can't imagine ever hiring anyone else, other than the Handy King, aka Patrick! He saved my brother and I a lot of money and headaches, when it came to repairing, plumbing, pool, caulking, and door repairs. Thanks Patrick for your help, kindness and responsiveness! And, thanks for bringing the cutest dog I have ever seen, we really enjoyed him!
Chris with short notice, during this busy time of year, helped me replace the carpet, linoleum, minor repairs (re-caulk areas, trim repair, installation of new screen door and microwave), paint the whole interior of my townhouse located in Lynnwood WA, making sure it was ready to go on the market all within 3 weeks notice. I was impressed with Chris's ability and effort to organize all of the work that needed to be done in such a short period of time. This saved me time and effort being able to work with one contractor and it was very important to work with someone I could trust to get the work done as I live in CA. Chris communicated with me about the timing and went above and beyond to make sure everything happened in the time frame requested and to my liking. When I didn't like how the linoleum turned out with the trim, Chris went outside the scope of work to add shoe moulding to make it look better. He did this at the end of his work day, unasked, so that I could put it on the market the next day with all the work completed. I highly recommend Chris and his crew for any home improvement work that you need done.
Outstanding job on time and great quality
I hired Jason to upgrade my formal dining room with wainscoting. It was a very tedious job and the wainscot had to be designed from scratch. Jason not only helped me pick up the material (panel boards, trim, chair rails) and also helped me pick up all the stuff from Home Depot. His attention to detail is commendable. He spent hours diligently lining up the trims, finishing them with caulk to make sure it all looked perfect, and it did. The chair rail pieces required an extra cut on the backside to go along with the design I wanted and he carried all the pieces home and made the cuts in his workshop. I upped the scale of the job by requesting window wrap arounds and he happily did so. My dining room looks way better than it ever did thanks to the professional job by Jason. I highly recommend Jason for his patience, diligence, skill and willingness to work with you.
