Sent an inquiry about possibly hiring her to walk my dogs 1-2x/week for 8-10 weeks as I'd just had major surgery. She sent me a nasty gram when I told her I'd hired someone else.Oct 22, 2016VerifiedVivian N.'s reply
Since every story has 2 sides: it does not have anything to do of being hired or not, but wait for a reply. I waited more than 2 days for his response and I replied back. When he sent me a reply I couldn't answer right away. It took me a few hours to reply, but he did not even wait for that and moved on, but even after 48 hours I replied to him. By the way, I never sent a nasty text back. Simply said that he could've waited for my reply and I'd gotten back to him as well as I waited (so long) for his.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The more I know about your pet, the better especially if they have any medications and food allergies. Knowing their daily routine is always a plus as well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and Animal Behavior Specialization. I had a dog that I took care for many years and I know basic care for cats. I have been a dog wrangler which involves supervising and correcting up to 30 dogs at the same time. Also I volunteer for an animal shelter. As for wild animals, my responsibilities included preparing food and feeding, cleaning and monitoring their behavior.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I have always enjoyed being with animals since I was a kid. I knew that I wanted to choose something related to animals career wise and I did. Besides, animal's behavior has always intrigued me. Why have they done this or that? I believe that they do not just act instinctively. Also it is always rewarding to help dogs with behavioral issues.
