What started as a relatively simple job to install a mirror turned into Habtamu helping us with a whole list of things around the house, including IKEA installation, identifying a few other issues we hadn’t even noticed, and fixing those as well. He went far above and beyond what we originally hired him for.
What really stood out was his incredible attention to detail and respect for our home. It was the little things. Before drilling into the wall, he actually taped a small trash bag underneath the spot so the dust and debris would fall directly into it instead of making a mess. That tiny detail says a lot about how he approaches his work.
He also noticed other things around the house that could use attention and pointed them out without ever being pushy or trying to manufacture more work. If something needed a quick fix, he just took care of it. He was thoughtful, meticulous, and clearly cared about doing things properly rather than simply finishing the job and moving on.
The mirror itself turned into a bit of a saga because two replacement mirrors arrived broken, which meant Habtamu ended up coming out three separate times. He was incredibly patient and accommodating throughout the whole process. Every time, he carefully took everything apart, dealt with the packaging and broken pieces, took out the trash, and cleaned everything up. By the time he left, you wouldn’t even know work had been done, except that everything looked better than before.
It’s rare to find someone who combines craftsmanship, reliability, attention to detail, cleanliness, patience, and genuine helpfulness this well. Habtamu takes pride in his work, treats your home with care, and looks for ways to help without ever making you feel pressured.
Absolutely outstanding experience from beginning to end. Habtamu is now at the very top of my list for ANY handyman work, and I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend him to friends and family. If I could give more than five stars, I would.
