Vladamire did do a nice job refinishing my floors. And he did show up when he said he did. He didn’t damage anything. However communication was quite difficult and exhausting, even with typing things into Google Translate. The bid was a quick, simple thing without any discussion of details. Nothing was said about the color changing radically at any point. Vlad said the job was done after 2 coats and a day and a half of work. The floor was nothing like what it had been and couldn’t stand up to normal wear. When I asked him to come back and do a third coat, I got days of nonsense. Vlad said I had agreed to “natural.” I did not, color change was not discussed. Then he claimed to have done two coats the first day along with taping the house and sanding the floor. Each coat takes hours to dry. Then he claimed that the warm honey oak color of the rest of the house would develop over time on the pale ash colored floors because it was caused by sun. The floors had been uniform, including a long dark hall. When he did finally come do the third coat, he agreed to also cover where the fridge sits, since a leak had caused the original problem. He claimed he did, but had the fridge back in place with the plastic tray under it in 30 minutes. He also told me only when I paid that it would be 10% more for a check.
