I got 2 bids to level my backyard and build a retaining wall. Rodrigo's bid was about the same as the other guy's. I picked Rodrigo because his company could also build a fence that we needed, and he could start the project about a month earlier. The retaining wall and fence are very high quality. The yard is mostly level; we had discussed leveling another part of it, but it wasn't included in the contract so it's my fault that it wasn't done. Rodrigo's crew noticed that my downspouts were running off just a couple feet from my foundation. They offered to scope up the project by adding a drainage pipe out to the street. Our home inspector had made the same suggestion when we bought the house, so we accepted the additional work for what seemed like a fair price. It's obvious that Rodrigo cares about the quality of his work. He gets excited when showing samples from his portfolio. My only suggestion is to flesh out as many details as possible early on. I still have some flattening to do, for example, because I had taken for granted that work was included. Additionally we had talked about salvaging some plants, but I came home one day to discover they were eradicated/relocated. For a broad project that was completed in a short time period, I'm not too disappointed by the surprises.

Requested a quote for fence repair. Spoken to him via phone and TEXTed him my address as he requested. Never heard from him again. Clicking one star only because it forces me to click something. I won't click that if I could. Move on fine someone else more reliable and professional.
