FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Since I can provide such a variety of skills, my rates run anything from $20/hr for simple production and pre-press file assembly to $50/hr for full art direction/design/editing (and considering this can often take 3-5 individuals to handle, I'm a bargain!). Most clients fall somewhere in the middle. I can provide a flat-rate estimate with the proper information. I try to be as accurate as possible, since some projects can start simple but balloon in complexity, and I work towards what is fairest for both me and my client: if time and costs exceed the original flat estimate, I always discuss with the client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an initial meeting, whether in person or online, I generally take all of the information given to me by the client (anything from rough wording and ideas for images to finished text and photos) and create near-finished work for their review. This means my clients can see exactly what they will be getting and don't need to worry about seeing a series of rough drafts.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained in graphic design before computers, but have been hands-on with computer graphic design from the very beginning. I have also been certified with web design, and take classes periodically to make sure I'm up-to-date with current trends.
