FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Continuing education is a must in the health and fitness industry. Not only is it required to keep my certifications up to date, but I am constantly reading, seeking, and taking in new information - to be in the know, at the top of my game, and for the love of my trade!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had graduated culinary school and been working in the food industry for just over a year and gained ~30+ pounds during that time. I had always been mildly interested in fitness, but something clicked for me summer of 2011 and I decided to really go for my weight loss goals. When I started reaching them inspiration, motivation, and dedication all took over. I decided to attend the National Personal Training Institute of Portland in October 2011 to become a knowledgeable trainer who could help others achieve their fitness goals.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with people to feel strong in their ever day life. That can be cross-training for anything from getting up and out of chair without difficulty or not feeling winded on the stairs, to more recreational hobbies such as hiking, running, rock climbing, or skiing.
