FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If the work isn’t to begin right away, a non-refundable retainer fee must be paid to hold your desired start time on my schedule. The retainer fee is 10% of the total quote I presented to you. While it’s non-refundable if you cancel the project, it DOES go toward your final bill if the project moves forward. Before design work begins, I require 40% to be paid upfront if there was a retainer paid, and 50% if there wasn’t need for a retainer. The remaining 50% will be due upon completion of my quoted work. I do, however, offer a 5% discount for clients who pay their full fee upfront.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I need to see the space they want redesigned, then I ask them the seven most important questions: What about this space is NOT working for you? How do you plan to use this space after the project is complete? What kind of aesthetic style are you drawn to? How much do you want to spend to make that dream come to life? Are there any MUST HAVES in your mind for the space? Do you have any special needs that must be considered in the design? Examples: kids, pets, allergies, sensitivities, different abilities, ethical and or spiritual practices, etc. What is your desired timeline to complete the project, and are there any known time constraints?
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
