FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are required to obtain a certain number of hours in continuing education each year in order to renew our national licenses. I look forward to these sessions as it is always refreshing to be back in academia and chatting it up with my colleagues about this difficult case or that. I often return to either San Diego (where I taught and worked for many years) of San Francisco (where I have family and where I received my training) and it is fun to reconnect with family and friends.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Acupuncture relieved my chronic back pain that I'd had for over a year due to a skiing accident. It achieved these results after only 3 visits. This miraculous recovery inspired me to become an acupuncturist and to study this amazing alternative therapy.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be sure that the provider is nationally and state board certified with no judgements against them. Be sure that they graduated from an accredited program. Be sure that they use only disposable needles. Check to see if they are in your insurance network as a preferred provider. Ask if you will be able to maintain a weekly to bi-weekly schedule with them if your treatment needs require it. Ask if they have any particular areas of expertise and if they have any testimonials they may read.
