I used Chumley Construction to repair an incorrectly installed foundation on an addition to a home. The addition was settling into the ground. Joe was prompt, straight forward, and trustworthy. I thought the scope of his repair would need to be bigger and was ready to pay for it. Joe determined that the repair could be successful without the extra scope and did not sell me something I did not need. This is excellent professional ethics. I know who I'll be calling any time I need this type of work in the future.

Details: I'm just starting • Crawl space or attic • Repair existing structure • 500 - 1,000 sq ft • Home • I am the owner

Joe and his team recently completed a foundation repair job on an older investment property. He gave me an honest opinion, and reassured me. (Other contractors told me it was gloom and doom). His team came in on the scheduled date, and completed the job in a timely manner. Great work ethic, and professionalism .Thank you Chumley Foundation and Repair! I would hire them again in a heart beat.

Details: I need a professional's help to identify what is wrong with my foundation • Crawl space • I'm not sure, I need a professional's help to identify my load-bearing wall type • Residential

Joe responded here in short time and scheduled the visit in one week. He listened patiently from us about the house info and our concerns about slop floor. Along the inspection, he gave us lot of basic knowledges and detailed explanations. It makes things easy for us to understand. What impressed me is his professional, details orientated, honest, and friendly style. He provided suggestions of closely monitoring on our concerned items and calling back when need. And he even checked an extra item per our request at the end of visit and rated it as higher priority to go with plumbers. No foundation work at this moment. He shows high efficiency, friendly, excellent ethics. Great work! Highly recommend.

Details: Uneven or sloping floors • I need a professional's help to identify what is wrong with my foundation • Full basement • I'm not sure, I need a professional's help to identify my load-bearing wall type • No obstacles • Residential

They were amazing from start to finish. Through the bidding process they were better then other companies at explaining problems and solutions. Thorough written bids and professional payment process. Great communication . Went above and beyond and thought about not only current problem but potential future problems and solved those too. Very impressed and look forward to hiring them again for anything foundation related. We had basement water problems that resulted in rotted wood they were able to replace everything and prevent future water problems with an entire corner of our house that was underneath a second story. With a corner foundation problem it felt very important for us to hire a knowledgeable, professional, trustworthy company and they proved to be all of those things.

Details: I'm just starting • Basement • Replace parts of existing structure • Less than 500 sq ft • Home • I am the owner

Mitchell arrived today to do an assessment of a wall in my basement that I had thought was bowing inward, which could have ending up being a very expensive repair. It turns out, however, that the wall was simply bowed inward towards the bottom due to an aberration in the original pouring of it within a stacked wooden board mold 117 years ago, and Mitchell was quick to point this out to me within the first minute of examining it. Of note also, is that a structural engineer, whom I had an appointment with just prior to Mitchell, had also confirmed the same thing, and I told Mitchell nothing about this. Mitchell also went on to point out several things to be looked to that the structural engineer had not covered, such as severely truncated concrete aprons mounted by dry rot on the bottom of the vertical wood beams that support the floor above, as well as ways of sealing off my overall wall and floor and apron floor joins with hydraulic cement. Very highly impressed!

Details: Cracked or bowing walls and siding • Full basement • Traditional masonry or brick • No obstacles • Residential
