We had a sweep done of our wood burning stove and a replacement of the chimney cap three weeks later. The work was done in a timely manner. Nathan was courteous and efficient. Later when I had a problem with the draw, he returned to remove a screen that was blocking the air flow. Great service!

I wish I didn’t hire this company and will never so so again (or Seattle Air which is a connected company). I’m spending the time to write this thorough review to warn others and because I made my decision based on reviews as well. I fell for the sales pitch and good impression of the contractor who came out to do the bid—he was responsive, personable, and professional when doing the sales pitch. I wish I knew more about the chimney repair process before I hired this company. The laborer, was polite and hard working, but was sent to the job without adequate tools— no scaffolding or even a long enough ladder to work on the chimney for my 1 story house. I made the mistake of lending my ladder which is now covered in mortar as it wasn’t cleaned off after the job. They did not use a dust catcher with the grinder for removing old mortar and the dust got into my house and my neighbor’s. The laborer hosed everything down after the job, but unfortunately, there was dried mortar all over the side of my house and my neighbors which took us hours to scrub off before it set and stained our paint. Lastly, and most importantly, the blade size this company uses to remove the mortar to do a “tuck point” is inadequate and I’m probably going to have to pay thousands of dollars to repair this again in the near future—but I didn’t realize this at the time. My neighbor who had a chimney repair done recently and could see the work from their house noticed that the laborer didn’t seem to be grinding very deep and mentioned it the following day. I went back through the bid paperwork and realized that I failed to notice that this company was doing the job for the same price as a competitor but using a smaller blade size (presumably to cut corners by doing less work and using less mortar in the repair). This isn’t something in my radar since I’ve never had chimney repair done before. I lodged most of my complaints with the contractor while the work was going on, but some of the lessons I didn’t learn until it was too late.
