FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I mostly work with couples and individuals going through major life transitions. Life has a funny (yet sadistic) way of putting us through all sorts of initiations. One of the major doorways we have to squeeze through to evolve is the transition from adolescence to adulthood. This can happen anywhere from age 12 to age never. In family therapy it is referred to becoming an individual in your family system. In short it is the process of making conscious old messages from family, society, etc. and deciding what is necessary or helpful for you to keep on your journey forward. Another aspect of this work is that unwanted symptoms are often the first step in someone's healing path, such as the archetype of the wounded healer.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
See if you can meet or talk with your potential counselor to see if they fit your style. Most counselors will have time to get to know you before you choose this important relationship.
