Excellent project vision. High quality work. On time, on budget. Great Communicator. We hired Mike to put in a new staircase in our 1924 craftsman home which required cutting open the floor, creating a new load bearing support wall, matching the rise and run of the staircase to land where we specified (not an easy feat), adding lighting, railings, and insulating and sheet rocking the entire thing. All in a fairly confined space where he had to navigate around gas lines, our garage door, a very choppy cement garage floor to build off of, and under floor radiant heating. The final result far exceeded our expectations, especially given that we had no architectural plans, just a vision. Mike was gracious and patient with us, coming over four separate times to listen to our ideas on the project and work with us to develop a vision of the final product. There are many things we appreciated about working with Mike, a few that stand out: Quality of the work: We let Mike know from the start that we were putting in the staircase only so that we could sell our house. Another contractor might have done just an 'OK' job knowing that we wouldn't have to live with the results. It's clear that Mike and his team take great pride in their work because they were absolutely meticulous; adding detail trim and thoughtful touches. The construction was extremely solid, and for a house that is 90 years old, I have no doubt that staircase will be there 90 years from now. Communication: Anytime I texted or called Mike, I got a very prompt response. He kept us updated on the project progress throughout. We feel like he really listened to us all the way through. If he wasn't sure about a particular detail, he was humble enough to say so and he got us an answer as soon as possible. Thoughtfulness: Mike and his team showed an abundance of care at my house, leaving everything cleaner than they found it. I had no worries whatsoever handing over the keys to my house to Mike and his team. They were very respectful, true professionals, and just very nice people to be around. My only regret is not hiring Mike to do the staircase right after I purchased the house rather than right before I plan to sell it. Thanks Mike & Team!

Mike is absolutely phenomenal. We engaged him initially for one small project and he did a brilliant job, and we have since engaged him several more times up to a custom kitchen remodel, complete house painting, building and restoring a driveway and decks. He has done a great job on every aspect of every project and his work has greatly increased the beauty and value of our house. We recommend him for anything and everything.

We first hired Mike and his team in December 2013 to do a basement bathroom remodel. We were very happy with his work, and subsequently hired him to do a complete basement finishing project. It was a big job, and the results are terrific. Mike's a great guy. He communicates well, and is very good at keeping costs down without cutting corners. We look forward to hiring him again, and definitely recommend him.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    Because they are so popular here in Seattle, we do many basement conversions each year. It is my favorite project to take on due to the great variety within a single project to include framing, plumbing, electrical, flooring, walls, doors & windows etc. From media rooms to mother-in-law units we can accomplish any conversions.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Check their license information and make sure it is valid. If it is valid, then you know they are bonded and insured as well. Any contractor who does not stay in good communication with you prior to, during and immediately thereafter your project I would be cautious of.
