Introduction: Hi! My name is Kelley, and I've recently started to work as a handywoman independently. My previous positions within apartment maintenance jobs relied passively on waiting for things to break. Instead, I'd like to put my name out there and tackle these jobs at a faster, more proactive pace. I love my job, and I know there are people out there who just don't have the time or expertise to complete tasks around their home.
As a woman, I've found it to be interesting and challenging at times in the maintenance field. Even in 2013, a lot of people don't think a woman can complete maintenance tasks like the guys can. It can be frustrating at times, but I've found it rewarding that I can complete these tasks and more importantly, I love doing it. I've never been into the 'girly' things, so here I am! I am ready to fix everything.
I have seven years of experience in apartment maintenance, preventative maintenance, remodeling and construction. I can tackle almost any project that the big boys can, and I stand behind my work 100%. I am mobile as far as Thurston and Snohomish counties, and I would love to talk to you about any projects (small or large) that you need help within your home.
There are a few things I have yet to become proficient in. I haven't had much experience in framing, HVAC, large appliance repair or any large projects that should require a professional in that field like major plumbing and electrical. Some things need to be up to code, and safety is a major priority. I would not take on a project that I didn't think I could complete though, so just explain in detail the projects at your house, and I'll see what I can do!
I have basic knowledge in all areas of the home, including electrical, plumbing, some flooring, tile, painting, drywall, installation of cabinets, some siding and window installation experience, crown and base molding, repair of existing broken items, deck staining, exterior house painting, fence repair, roof cleaning, etc.
