We hired Alex and his crew (PRORAB Construction and Remodeling) for a small but multi-part interior repair project after flood drying in our Shoreline home, and the experience was excellent from start to finish.
The original scope included removing faux-wood paneling from a bedroom wall, prepping and skim-coating the underlying drywall to match existing texture, repairing a damaged section of door jamb and trim, patching drywall in the garage, and laying new trim. Aleksei provided a clear, written bid, talked through options thoughtfully, and took real care to understand what we wanted as homeowners — balancing quality, durability, and cost.
We were impressed enough to also hire Alex for a the follow-on project: replacing flood-damaged carpeting with new LVP flooring. That job turned out to be more complex than expected — the crew had to remove old linoleum underneath and do significant leveling work on the concrete slab. Despite the extra labor, Alex honored his original quote, which speaks volumes about his integrity.
Throughout both jobs, Alex was methodical, professional, and communicative. He coordinated timing well, let us know promptly when conditions changed, explained what he was finding, and followed through on everything he promised — often doing more than required to get the result right. As a bonus, he figured out a an innovative and elegant way to cover a very noisy sewer cleanout pipe protruding into our basement guest bedroom - it cost a fraction of what other contractors had proposed.
It’s can be frustratingly hard to find a contractor who combines craftsmanship, clear communication, fairness, and pride in their work. As an older retired couple, Alex is on speed dial for us for all the stuff home ownership throws at you, and we are glad to recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable local crew for repair, remodeling, or construction.
