FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Attending and presenting at local and national conferences, including the Grant Professional Association's conferences.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began by wanting to help others. I considered going into contract-development law, and ultimately decided to accept a scholarship to graduate school and studied non-profit administration and public policy, hoping to work in the charitable sector. I began working in nonprofit funding in graduate school in 2001, volunteering on a policy-revision committee at the United Way. Following that experience, I focused my Master's of Public Administration studies on public policy as it related to grants, and began gaining experience with grant writing. In 2003, I founded Iden Advancement, and have worked with roughly 55 customers in the first 10 years of business.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Grant prospect research, grant proposal evaluation, and grant writing.
